Kenmore microwave 721 Displays 66:66 and beeps

I have a Kenmore 721.804 microwave. During the middel of the night it started beeping and displayed 66:66. Unplugging it resets the problem for a few hours, but then beeps again.

It does work fine otherwise (heats and turns).

Try first unplugging power cable for ten minutes, and see if it clears the error.

Error codes on Kenmore microwaves are in format F1 E3 etc. 66.66 is not an error code, that is a faulty control panel.
If the problem persist you will need to have the control assembly replaced.

    You can find parts here.

    Or here.

That is because the contro panel board is faulty, or the ribbon cable that connects the panel is bad or misplaced, likely the oven must be taken apart and the part replaced.

I have a Galaxy 721. microwave. There is a beep that sounds every minute and the microwave is not being used. I am stumpped! How do I stop the beeping?

Sounds like someone activated the timer function. See if you can find the timer function in the menu, then turn it off.

New unit used 3 days. Microwave beeps and screen goes to menu, or set time screen. Sometimes changes the date all by itself. Does this in the middle of the night all night long.

I advice you to contact service if it has guarantee. This seems to be a psychological problem about your oven(!). Technical person need to do an electronic research surgery on its board to see if there is any wrong thing.

The SE indicates a short in the keypad membrane, but to cure this! the whole keypad control board should be changed if effort to resolve is decided, I would also suggest checking the pricing.

Microwave starts beeping, four times then displays SE

Sounds as if it may be getting hot look at the back and under the unit there will be a grid of sorts sometimes at the back and//or the bottom or side/s of the machine check to see if this is free of dust etc if not clean and try again remember microwaves can give a nasty bite//please switch off and unplug first..

KENMORE MICROWAVE (HOUSEHOLD) LOCKED

It sounds like you press STOP two or three times to lock it. Maybe that (or another key) will unlock it.

The lock / unlock procedure will be covered in your owner's manual.

Or you can try a hard reset - unplug it from the wall for one minute, then plug it back in and try again.

If you don't have your manual, you can get one here. (Enter your model number without any spaces)

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Disabling the beep on a Kenmore microwave

I have Kenmore microwave model 721.61820100.
It has an "Option" button. Press it. The display say "NUMBER"
Then press "1". The display should say "SOUND" and then "OFF".
Press "Start" and that beast turns silent, well not really, but the beeps are goooone.

If for some reason you don't like it this way repeat the sequence and the sound this time will turn "ON".

Your keypad or control board may have moisture or grease on them, but your keypad (membrane switch) is likely going bad. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find a keypad (if available) by entering your exact model here: http://www.samsungparts.com/search/search.asp
