Question about Digital Cameras

Two switches on my Konica Minolta A2 don't work: they are the circular direction switch on the camera back, and the ISO change switch on the left side. Also the anti-shake lamp lights up sometimes and will not turn off. Can this be repaired?

To repair it the camera must be taken apart, and the switches teated with circuit cleaning solution or replaced.

When it goes to black&white the lightconditions are probably too dark. It has a better range in black&white so it switches. (but if I remember correctly this only happens when you're in video-modus 'cause in photo-modus the flash will pop up)

The manual focus ring on my camera doesn't work. The ring turns but does not seem to adjust the focus. Automated focusing still works. How to fix it?

Two methods:-

1. Use the slider switch on the left of the camera to set it to MF (manual focus). The focus ring is an electronic one rather than a physical control like the zoom ring, so the response can seem slow.

2 Go into the camera menu and enable DMF (Direct Manual Focus). This allows you to override the autofocus simply by adjusting the focus control, but it does not work if the slider switch is set to the AF C setting (continuous autofocus), it only work in the AF-S (AF only activates once when the shutter is half pressed).

It takes very grainy pictures in cloudy weather and at dusk. Even a very basic digital camera won't have this problem. Wonder if there is any solution, or it is a factory defect.

Check you ISO settings. If it is set high (400 or higher) there will be increased sensor noise. Sometimes a camera will automatically set a high ISO when the light is low. You can check the ISO in the exif data on your computer, by right clicking the file and checking the advanced properties. If the noise is excessive, send it in for repair.

Grainy Pictures

I have an earlier version of this camera: a minolta  dimage 7. While your camera is better(later) than mine beyond ISO 100 these cameras tend to be noisy.  The only solution is to asscpt the noise since hou will need a high ISO in order to use an acceptable shutter speed  and use a noise reduction program (noise ninja, neat image, helcion noise filter). One of these may be free- i think helcionbut aside from changing to a DSLR this is the best solution

Which types of filters can be used?

Please use thin type filters to prevent vignetting on the corners. The following filters are vignetting-free. Konica Minolta 49mm AC L37 (UV filter) (Thickness is approx. 5.5mm in total, and approx. 3.4mm excluding the screw part.) Konica Minolta 49mm ND 4x filter 49mm type causes vignetting. Please use Konica Minolta filter adapter (49mm > 62mm) and 62mm Polarizing filter II (Circular) in combination.
