SOURCE: Literati ereader will not sync

Turn the reader off before you connect the usb cable to the computer for the first time. When you power the reader on it will then be recognized by the computer. If you added an SD card to the reader, the computer will also recognize it as a separate drive. The reader will ONLY recognize files you add to the SD card. The reader also has a great zoom function so you can easily read newspaper and magazine pdf files.

I upgraded the software to version 1.9 before doing all of the above (it may work with version 1.6 bu I just don't know).

I think virtually everyone who purchased these will be returning them. I returned one for not synching, and the second is the same. Technical support, I believe is non existent. I've read an increasing number of complaints about the same issue. It's unfortunate, because I like many features of the reader. But you have to have tech support with a new product. When you don't, you're trying to pull something.

Hi, this is conrard.
if your reader will not sync with your ebooks. try to use the adobe digital editions (http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/)
download the app then download the epub/pdf format of the book. Use the ADE to transfer the book(drag&drop the book in the slick reader)

If you do not see it in the book folder on your Aluretek then you might have put it on your SD card. Try looking there first. Then if not hook your Aluretek to the device you downloaded the book to and drag and drop into the book folder in your Aluretek.

Performing a basic reset A basic reset will force your eReader to restart properly. In many cases, this is enough to restore your eReader to normal.
  1. If possible, turn off your eReader.
  2. Locate the small hole on the bottom of your eReader.
  3. Unfold a paperclip and slide an end into the hole.
  4. Press gently until you feel a click. Your eReader should restart.
Performing a factory reset If a basic reset doesn't work, you can perform a factory reset to restore your eReader to its original settings. After a factory reset, you'll have to set up and sync your eReader again.
If you perform a factory reset on your eReader, you'll:

My kobo is frozen on starting sync won't turn on or off


Note: If your Kobo device has been physically damaged, it is no longer covered by Kobo's limited warranty. On a Kobo eReader, a physically damaged screen will look like it's been shattered, or you may see vertical or horizontal lines on the screen with a frozen image. If you haven't dropped or damaged your Kobo eReader, but are experiencing issues, try the steps below in the order suggested.
  • Turn your eReader off and then on again.
  • If your screen is frozen, slide the power button to the right and hold it for 10 seconds. Your eReader should turn off.
  • Turn your eReader off and charge it for at least four hours. Note: Your computer should be turned on while you are charging your Kobo eReader.
  • If your eReader isn't charging, try using a different Micro USB cable or a different USB port on your computer. Note: If your eReader's battery is completely drained it can take up to 15 minutes before it reacts to being plugged into power.
  • If you're having trouble while reading a book on your Kobo Aura H2O, Kobo Aura, Kobo Aura HD, Kobo Glo, or Kobo Mini: tap the centre of the screen to bring up the Reading Menu, tap the > Home icon to return to your Home screen, then open your book again.
  • If you're having trouble while reading a book on your Kobo Touch: press the Home button and open your book again.
  • Try a basic reset.
  • If you're still having issues, consider a factory reset.
  • If you're unable to reset your device, please contact Kobo Customer Care

How do I transfer new books from computer to ereader,I bought 2 new books they show on e reader in a little box but cannot be accessed


Have you tried a usb from your computer and connect it to your ereader , you should be able to transfer from one to the other that way otherwise how else would you transfer without a usb device?

Problem with internet connection says when I connect my KOBO to computer and cannot sync any books. Kobo charged and can't access KOBO on computer


It could be several things. But you may need to delete Kobo and reload the app. I have had to do this on some of my programs. Your books are on the net, so they won't be lost.

How do i download books onto my kobo ereader


You should have first of all downloaded Kobo desk top apps on to your computer - after which you can buy book....then syncing ...once the book has been loaded to your library you plug your e-reader in and syncing, this loads the book on to your e-reader..

First make sure your books are really (still) in your account. Log into Kobobooks.com and check your library. Here's a direct link to the library page: Sign in to Kobo with

If you don't see your books there, you didn't buy them under that user account, or they're been removed from your account. Call Kobo support in either case.

If the books are there, make sure your Kobo eReader is also logged in using the same account. To do that,
1 - Open the menu
2 - Tap Settings
3 - Tap Account

Under 'Signed in as', you should see your user account. If not, tap in Sign in and log in. After that you can sync your library with your Kobobooks.com account from the menu again.

When I plug my Kobo ereader into my laptop, it is not acknowledged by my Kobo desktop. Also when I try to send a book to my ereader from downloads, there are no options; the port(s) used before now only...


Hi Brian,
Kobo has, unfortunately, had a lot of issues with their hardware. Your best option is to:
  1. Uninstall any software it came with.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Reinstall the software your device came with and re-sync.


Alternatively, you can use Windows Restore Point's and go back to a certain point in time where the Kobo device and your PC could sync. The link to do this can be found here:

Kobo ereader will not sync, says it is full, when there are no books and lots of memory left


when my kobo was brand new out of the box I tried to set it up using the kobo software and got a message saying that the memory was full which obviously wasn't the case. I now use caliber to put all of my books on my kobo and it seems to work perfectly. Hope this helps

I have a slick ereader er 700-2 that won't sync any of my latest ebooks onto the ereader. How can i fix this?
