THEY USE A MEMORY CAP.ITS LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB ASSEMBLY, REF. C7701 ONKYO PART NUMBER IS 3000078/ WITH THE UNIT TURNED OFF MEASURE THE VOLTAGE YOU SHOULD HAVE APPROX 5V IF NOT THE CAP IS BAD. ALSO MEASURE WITH UNIT ON AND YOU SHOULD ALSO MEASURE 5 V IF NOT THEN THE SUPPLY VOLTAGE GOING TO THE CAP IS BAD.

Recommend changing your FINAL drive AMP IC most house BOTH right and left channels, your drivers right channel input is good cuz it is used to make the left channel signal
Check speaker cables are in the right way as ONKYO amps have the conections side by side not up and down like most amps,also if you are useing hdmi leads go to the hardware set up in the menu and turn off the audio out for hdmi.
