I think you can try to upgrade the firmware on the router.

Connect one compute to the router and download the firmware of the router.
Open the setup page and upgrade the firmware.

See How to upgrade firmware on the router

After upgrading the firmware reset the router and reconfigure it manually.
See if that helps you.

I would try to connect using a wired connection instead of a wireless connection to see if the speed increases. Also go to Speakeasy Speed Test and run a test to see what speed your internet is really running at.

Do other wireless laptops connect to your wireless router, and give good speeds? Do you have many wireless networks, other than your own, that show up when you try to connect? It could be interference from other wireless networks in your vicinity.

What's your problem?Lan problem

Your internet is very slow because it is connected to many systems using a low speed plan.Due to heavy load your lan may be very slow. So it is better you choose a higher internet plan according to the number of systems connected and then check your speed at Scanmyspeed.com .. Contact your ISP for plan details

The speed of the wireless connection can be affected by -
1. The signal strength
2. Clashes with other wireless routers in your area broadcasting on the same channel
3. Electrical interference with the wireless signal
4. WEP & WPA Encryption of the wireless signal to prevent unauthorized access does slow the data transfer a bit.
That is why you are getting better performance using the LAN cable.

Ethernet works wirelss is very slow

Most of the wireless adapters connect at a speed of 54mbps max, while wired lan connection adaptors (LAN adapter/cable) works at max of 100/1000mbps. hence use a cable to connect the PC to make it faster than using wireless.

Wireless LAN low speed

Try plugging the computer directly on your modem/router then check your speed. If the speed improves then big possibility that it's the wireless adapter. Try uninstalling then installing it again. If the speed did not change even though you directly plugged it then it means that your computer has a problem. You may need to optimize your IE or disable any firewall or any programs that uses the internet.
