Question about Element Electronics FLX3210 32 in. LCD TV
The only way i can figure to stop this is to unplug it and leave it unplugged for a little while is this right? i have many thing plugged into the surge protector and that is the only thing that ever turns off
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I have run into the same problem with a different model (32 inch from Circuit City). You may have found that there is almost no support from the co or web. I do not have an official solution but have some work arounds that have done the job for me.
WA#1 = after a channel scan tune to a HD/digital channel before you turn the set off. You need to do this each time for several times, because the set when turned on to a regular cable or analog station will default to skip all channels. After several times the set should remember your channels.
WA#2 = after a channel scan, go to the skip channel section of the menu, and if your remote has the colored buttons on the bottom scroll through the channels using the red and green (up and down on this menu) buttons. This apparently helps the set remember not to skip your scanned channels.
These are not glamorous solutions but appear to trick the TV into not re-setting the skip function for the channels.
Best of luck.

SOURCE: TV is on, but screen is black.
In your set, there is a section that receives the IR signal from your remote, then translates the pulses sent and initiates the action you chose.
I think the failure is happening in this 2nd circuit which is now doing whatever it wants.
This section may be located on the main board or could be part of the IR receiver board.
The only thing you might try is this:
- Pull the AC plug and let the unit sit overnight. - Remove the back panel of the set. - Look for any cables connecting the different boards, carefully unplug these one at a time and then reconnect.
If you are lucky, it is only the failure of contacts in one of these interconnecting cables. If there is no change in the behavior of the set, then a component has gone intermittant and to locate and replace the faulty component, you are stuck with either a board exchange or replacement of it. You will have to contact the service company for that brand to get the cost involved with either a repair or replacement board.
Unfortunately, the sets we are now buying are not nearly as reliable and far more complex than the previous generation of CRT-type sets made in countries other than China.

My Element ELCHS261 will not turn on at all. The only thing it does is the red light will turn to blue but no sound and no picture. My troubleshooting items have been changed the batteries in the remote then I unpluged the power for for 30 minutes and still nothing.
