Question about Sharp 27F641 TV
We have had this Sharp 27F641 for several years (Manufactured in 2004). Recently it started randomly turning itself off with a loud "popping" sound. After this happens you can't turn the TV back on. Sometimes this lasts for a few minutes but more frequently it lasts days. We have discovered that unplugging it and replugging it sometimes helps but the condition has worsened so now that is not enough to fix it. If we press and hold the power button it seems like static is discharged (degaussed?) which sometimes helps. It is quite a problem and if you aren't careful you can be seriously shocked by touching the metal SHARP logo on the front of the TV or the plug.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

How many times per second does the POWER led blink? (dont worry about the OPC).
1x per second (constant, steady blink) = bad inverter/lamps
2x per second = bad power supply
3x per second = bad main board
You can buy the parts online and fix if yourself!!

SOURCE: Sharp 32c231 volume too low
If you are using a cable box with this set, the problem may be in the box settings.
open the settings menu on the box . You may have to select"more settings" or something like that title to find the audio selections.
Under the audio, you will find recording and viewing volume settings. put these to maximum and save.
Your volume should now be more than adequate.

Please check that the sleep timer did not somehow get set. If it's not the sleep timer, check if the panel stays ON longer after it's been off for awhile to cool down. Possibly a heat problem with the power supply or main board.
