Question about Creative Labs ITrigue 3400 2.1 Speaker White Computer Speakers
Speakers stopped working. No sound from sub-woofer or satellites.
Power supply tests good.
I haven't done a continuity check on the internal fuse but it looks good to the eye.
The speakers are about 3 years old
The stereo -jackbus is broken if your speakers won't work and your headphones are fine. The stereo jackplug holds a little switch at the back, which moves sideways if you connect headphones.
Solution is very carefully opening back end of stereo connector bus and reassembling the switch

A simple test to begin with is to turn the unit on (with or without the PC connected) and then quickly remove and replace the power jack form the back of the subwoofer a couple times. If you cannot hear and feel the pop/thump of the subwoofer, then test the output of the power supply, it should be about 13.5VAC (not DC). If you have good power, and no thump, your amplifier is likely toasted.
If you hear the pop/thump when you plug/unplug the power, then you're in good shape because the power supply and amplifier are working.
Odds are that the issue is mechanical and easily fixed. Bad jacks on the back of the subwoofer or on the remote, damaged cables, or a bad volume control (potentiometer). On the 3400 I just fixed, someone had yanked the remote cable, stretching and breaking a couple fine wires inside the remote
