New RAM Crucial 1gig, upgrade for MX3562 Gway LapT. Right out of the blister pack. Rechecked all connections 2x. Symptom before action was: Screen boot to load up XP. Stopped dead... straight to BSOD. Blacked out too fast to read notice. Prompted me to replace all parts. New charger, full charge. Tested switch. ANY suggestion gratefully accepted.

Just had the same problem, same board. This mb does not play well with all types of RAM. I had a single 2gb Patriot dimm and it did the exact same thing, removed the RAM and it would boot but no screen. Replaced the single dimm with 2 - 1gb dimms and it booted right up with no problem. Hope this helps.

New build pc no boot... black screen

Try to remove the battery from the MB, and next time you try to install WIN XP, when you are asked how to format your drive, chose quick NTFS formatting; disable floppy drive in BIOS, because it might try to boot from it (and I suppose you don't have one), and in boot sequence (BOOT DEVICE PRIORITY) set cd-dvd as first, and HDD as second, and turn off any other device as bootable

My HP Compaq Presario v2000 has new mobo, new CPU

You probably put more than a pin-head size drop of heat grease compound on CPU, thus "bleeding" over on the CPU, effectively overheating processor (very common). In any event, your problem is overheating -that's *the* place to look for now.

P105-S6014 Fan runs on start up, black screen, no picture.

Remove all parts from the motherboard PCI slots, AGP slots and such, including all drives and RAM memory sticks.

If you still cannot get to a boot screen, have the power supply checked out or get a power supply tester ($25 at most) and test it yourself. If it checks out OK, then try swapping your CPU out into a similar computer to test it.

If the CPU works, disconnect everything from your motherboard other than the power, this includes all RAM (memory) sticks any hard drives floppy cd, etc.

Boot the PC and see if you at least get to the BIOS boot screens (White type on a black bacground) If you do, then put them back one at a time, rebooting each time. This will allow you to narrow the problem down to the part causing the problem.

Replace the problem part.

That being said, it will most likely be the power supply in your system causing the problem. They can be replaced fairly easily.

Stops booting

Did you remove the components that you upgraded, and try adding them back one by one?

Will it give you a POST screen?

Does it Beep at boot time? If it is noisy try moving it to another room.

Describe the original components and then the ones that you upgraded in detail. This will allow us to better troubleshoot the problem.
