Question about Bose MediaMate Computer Speakers
Speakers have been stored in basement. Speaker and input wires have been chewed on by rodents, exposing wires. AC power adapter is fine, speakers appear unaffected but wires are trashed.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

My puppy chewed through the cord for my a/c adapter, I just took the speakers into Circuit City, and they found me a workable replacement (the replacement isn't BOSE, but it works just fine). Hope that helps!

Your best bet would be to go to a speaker repair shop, the Bose system should be worth a lot more than the modest price to repair the connector plug/socket. If you can't find a speaker shop locally look for one online.

SOURCE: Low to no sound on
click start control panel
sounds and audio volume advanced speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there also
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
or you might have to clean the dust from your computer dust causes static which causes your computer to overheat and all sorts of problems
be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your SOUND CARD dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems
hope this helps
