All netbooks have both the wired and wireless networking capability built-in. The Acer Aspire One AOA 150 Model No. ZG5 (8.9" screen) netbook has a RJ-45 jack on its left side for wired 10/100 Ethernet. On right-most part of its front is a slide switch to toggle enabling/disabling of the built-in 802.11b/g WLAN for wireless connectivity to WiFi. Click on the following link for a detailed description... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspire_one
Pushing the wireless slide switch to the right momentarily will cause either Wireless LAN Enabled or Wireless LAN Disabled in large green letters to appear momentarily at the bottom middle of the screen. Once enabled, look at the Taskbar at the bottom right of the desktop and click on the little terminal icon with ))) and a little red x beside it. This opens the Wireless Network Connection window and you would then do the following...
1. in Network Task sidebar click on the Refresh network list to update the wireless networks
2. in Choose a wireless network on the right side, click on an item in the list to select & hi-light it
3. click on the Connect button to get a pop-up window for Network key & Confirm network key
4. if unsecured network, the pop-up reminds you of the risks but you can Connect Anyway
5. in the pop-ups, you can click to either Connect (for secured), Connect Anyway, or Cancel
6. when connecting, another pop-up window appears with Waiting for the network
7. once connected, the selected network will move to the top of the network list
8. in the desktop's Taskbar, the little terminal icon with ))) will no longer have the little red x
9. right click on the icon to get a pop-up for the status and wireless connection management

You have to make sure you put the hinge back together correctly if it popped off. Lay the hinge in place, then put the key on top if it, and give it a good solid press.

Hi can anyone help please, my acer 5050 wireless is not working, just installed windows

1. locate the Wireless communication switch/indicator at the front of 5050 just left of headphone jack.
2. slide switch momentarily to the right.
3. you should see "Wireless LAN Enabled" in green letters at the bottom of the screen
4. a little screen icon should appear in the Taskbar at the bottom right of the screen
5. if it has a little red x beside it, right click on it for more options.
6. if it has no red x, you were automatically connected to a wireless that is open (no security enabled)
7. with the red x and after the right click, in the pop-up, click on View Available Wireless Networks
8. in the Wireless Network Connections window, if no list then click on Refresh network list
9. click on the SSID name for your wireless router to Chose a wireless network
10. click the Connect button to connect to the high-lighted network
11. if your wireless router has security (WEP or WPA) enabled, a pop-up will ask for the network key
12. enter Network key and repeat entry in next line to Confirm network key and click Connect button
13. the little screen icon should no longer have a red x beside it
14. hovering the mouse cursor over the icon will get a pop-up with wireless connection status

How to adjust the hinges on acer aspire one

you have to take it apart... take the screws out of the bottom... (two under the rubber stubs, and three under the battery) pop out the key board...(little stubs hold them in at the top are easiest to get out with a knife) keep taking out the screws and eventually you will see the little brass brackets in there. :) hope it helps

How do i switch my acer aspire laptop 5315-2513 to wireless?

At the top of your key board right below the power button, there is a row of hotkeys the far left one is the wireless button. Press that and the wireless should be turned on.

For example, F10 is the switch for your wireless, you may press Fn + F10 and you will see a pop-up balloon saying that your wireless is now enabled.

How do I pop a key back on my keyboard acer aspire one netbook; popped off and can't get it back on.

There's a small plastic spring type clip that fits under the key. It has little nubs that stick out the side and fit into slots on the keypad base. The nubs break and your lucky if you find a replacement that stays in place long. You can get a new keypad for about 40 bucks on ebay and replace it in about 10 minutes.

There's a plastic trim strip across the top. pop one side with a small flat screw driver, remove, 2 screws at the top of the keypad and a ribbon cable to the motherboard. When removing the ribbon cable there's a small lip at the top of the connector, carefully lift that lip and the ribbon will pop out. Have fun

Acer aspire "zero" button promlem!

Try popping off the key cap and cleaning the contacts with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. If that doesn't fix it, you need a new keyboard.

Certain keys on my keyboard will not work, such as the "0","-",and "/" keys

you can try to GENTLY pop/pry off the keys that do not work, and see if the rubber membrane, (it acts as the spring, when you press a key) is still there and in place, with power off and battery removed, try a q-tip with a LITTLE rubbing alcohol, and clean the area under the keys, replace the membrane, and pop the key back on and test. before I would buy a replacement keyboard, you may want to restore the PC to the factory settings,(ReInstall Windows, etc), and make sure its not a software/windows problem or if its a hardware/keyboard failure. if this helps please give a fixya rating thank you

My acer laptop screen crack and I trid to coonnect it to monitor

You will more than likely need to enable the external monitor port of the laptop, using the Fn key, and one of the F Keys along the top. On the Travelmate's it's usually F5, so hold the Fn Key and press F5, with the monitor connected and powered up. You should find it springs into life. If not, you need to look for the monitor key on your laptop. It will look like an F Key along the top, but will have a little symbol showing two monitors on it (two rounded edge rectangles).
