Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Hi I have a dell laptop and have been adding my collection of backing tracks onto it. It has logged everything and all seems to be absolutely fine until the last bit of each track which crackles. The tracks do not do this on a stereo or mp3 player only on the laptop.

Possible driver issue with the sound device on the laptop. Test to see if it makes a noise at the end of an MP3 when only playing one song. If not, it would the transition between songs and you could possible turn an effect off, like in iTunes.

Please inform me of what software you are using on the laptop to play mp3s and maybe using something else may help or updating what you have.

Hi,
Check that the ethernet cable is plugged in to the back of the computer. Also check that the cable is connected to the modem and that the modem is switched on.

Resetting the password

Remove the battery . Short the grounding strips made for this purpose on the mother board,or the battery terminals,if you can't find the strips.  Reinsert the battery and the pass word will be gone.

Amber Light and fan running

1st thing, disconnect everything but keyboard mouse and monitor, see if anything changes.

If the issue persists, ensure that all power and card connections for the motherboard are tight and secure. If you've added RAM or other parts, remove them. Reseat the RAM in the motherboard that came from Dell.

If none of those ideas have any effect on the issue, replace the motherboard.

Add ons and cookies

Sound like a rogue addbot, spybot or a trojan,
possibly a search engine hi-jack.

Allowing third party cookie tracking is dangerous,
this should be disabled, unless you really need it.

Also never enable scripts, except for web sites
you trust.

1) Scan your computer with:

AD-Aware
Adbot Search and Destroy
AVG antivirus

etc.

2) Uninstall Firefox (remove all user settings)
Download a fresh copy, latest version
Re-install it

3) Go to the Firefox Home page ---> add ons,
donload and install:

NoScript by Giorgio Maone

This will protect you from most mischief
