SOURCE: Maytag Neptune
Check out the motor control board near the floor on the right side. These have a high failure rate on the Neptunes. Maytag redesigned both the motor and motor control board to be more reliable. While inspecting this board, you are looking for a blown 10 amp fuse and /or burnt components. If you have either... then you will need the the new motor conversion kit which includes the motor, motor control board and the wire harness.
See www.neptunewaxmotor.com for disassembly photos and other Neptune information.

Good for you…. On your decision to repair or at least make a solid decision to repair or junk. Also hit may tag for replacement cost if you decide to junk the unit. 1st level svr rep offered 15% on an their line, ask to speak to a supervisor and demand better, they offered me 25%. I decided to repair if you have been following my postings. To get you going you need the SM, I got this link form the applianceblog link listed below.
See this link from a FAV6800A owner like us from another self help site, this person had this error code you can follow his action steps to repair.
I believe the motor is warranted for 5 yrs. So you may be able to get Maytag to step up to the plate for some of the cost if it's a failed motor. So call the Maytag Customer Assistance number at the back of the manual if it’s a motor issue. This link will take you to the Maytag doc location where you can get further inf. Just put in your model#
Good luck to you on your decision to repair and job search.

Looks like another motor/motor control panel replacement. This machine has a faulty motor/motor control board, it has been re-engineered with a replacement. Has yours been replaced? Have you found the tech sheet behind touch panel and placed machine in service mode to test? We had the same issue, worked sporadically, didn't drain, got LR code then eventually stopped working. Check your spin in service mode, if it doesn't spin properly you should find out here. It is a very simple repair in all actuality. Contact Maytag and they will sell you the parts for a discounted price, make sure that you buy directly from Maytag, also check your boot very carefully since that part will also fail and allow water to get into the bottom of the machine where you have electronics.
