We have now found out that its the rollers making te terrible noise. But the tumble dryer is still tripping the fuse box every time it is used. We can hear a popping noise coming from the back of it. So guess it is shorting the electrics some where in the machine.

SOURCE: Dryer does not dry clothes

On the top of the heater box there is a thermal fuse that blows if the dryer overheats, on this model it could occur if the air circulation fan is faulty, or the condenser valve is faulty, alternatively the sump hose filter may be blocked, only a closer inspection of these items will determin which the problem is.

Got the same problem also less than 1 month out of warranty. I've read this post elsewhere and it sounds like the solution http://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=102947

SOURCE: Tumble dryer not working

I managed to solve the problem the following way: I noticed that if you unplug the Sensor-NTC(part nimber 154431 https://www.bosch-eshop.com/eshop(bD1lbiZjPTAwOQ==)/bosch/gb/prodp.htm?prod=WET2820GB%2f13 ) that controls temperature of air in the air channel, the drying cycle runs as you describe above. So this circute was checked up to the power module. Contacts of the Sensors plug were tightened; I think this solved the problem; resistance of the sensor checked. It must be 4.8K at 25 degree C. and decrease when temperature increases. I dipped the sensor in a glass with hot water.

My white knight tumble dryer wont start

Nothing works or drum fails to turn (tumble dryers)
Ensure that the power supply to the dryer is switched on, the timer is set to the desired drying time and the door is correctly closed. If you have a condenser model, also check that the bottle is empty and is fully pushed into the machine.

The first thing to establish when troubleshooting the clothes dryer is whether the dryer will start or not. If it won't, start by checking the outlet and the circuit breaker. Is the dryer plugged in or has it tripped the circuit breaker? If the breaker has been tripped, flip it back on and try the dryer again. The drum should turn without a problem.
If both plug and breaker are fine, you'll need to inspect the door switch as you continue to troubleshoot the tumble dryer. When you close the door on the dryer, a plastic peg should click and operate the switch which allows the dryer to work. The peg might be bent or broken, in which case it won't connect with the switch. You can try to straighten the peg, but if it's broken, you'll need to replace it. If the peg is fine, the switch has probably failed and will need to be replaced.

My tumble dryer is making a terrible when the drum goes round and it keeps tripping the fuse, does anyone know what it maybe?

sounds like the motor is seizing up from dry bearings and dragging enough to trip the breaker from excess current, open up the unit and remove belt off motor pulley and spin motor shaft,it should free wheel and coast to a stop,if not its getting bad

Dryer has warmth but clothes are not drying. vent is not clogged, temp set at regular, drum is turning What could be the Problem?

Hi

If the dryer is not drying the clothes then you would need to check for the following things-

Electric Dryer---

1. Inspect the fuses and circuit breakers they may have burned out or tripped. Usually, dryer will still tumble but not create heat if a fuse or a circuit breaker is not working.

2. Check for the amp reading at 240 V, it should have reading of 24, 21 and 3 amp (approx.) for 2 lines and neutral respectively.

3. Heating element may have turned or the connection to the element might be loose. Sometimes a shorted circuit element will keep on blowing the fuse or circuit breaker.

4. Motor wiring shorting to ground.

Gas Dryer---

1. Inspect the fuses and circuit breakers they may have burned out or tripped. Usually, dryer will still tumble but not create heat if a fuse or a circuit breaker is not working.

2. Check for the continuity of the heating element in your gas dryer using a multimeter. Replace the element if continuity is not there.

3. Inspect the thermal fuse if it is burnt out, it is attached to the exhaust duct on the back panel of the gas dryer. Replace if necessary.

4. Check the igniter by first disconnecting it, and then place the probes onto the two contacts of the igniter. The meter should read under 100 Ohms of resistance, if it is above 100 then replace the igniter.

5. Check the continuity on the flame sensor. The sensors are usually located close by the igniter so are easily visible.

Hope this helps...

Hoover Tumble Dryer trips out

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. It seems to be the issue with the Thermal Fuse going bad and needs to be replaced. It is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. Whenever this fuse goes bad it'll either trip the circuit breaker or the dryer wont heat. You can also check it for continuity with an ohm meter, no continuity means the fuse is bad and you need to replace it. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Dryer

When dryer does not heat, or heats too slow, that means that there is a problem either with the heating element, the thermal fuse

Unfortunately the only solution is testing and eventually replacing either the heathing element or the thermal fuse. Both jobs must be performed by a technician.

If you insert model number here you can get replacement parts and exploded view.

See the following suggeations from Repairclinic:

There's no heat If your dryer doesn't heat, check these:

Power from the house
Heating element
Thermal fuse
Wiring
Power from the house Checkto see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in?Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses twofuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if onlyone of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of thetwo circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer areconnected.

Heating element Oftena dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breakeror blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of specialwire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuitymeans the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heatingelements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse Onmany dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct insidethe back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usuallyembedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If thefuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Wiring Acommon problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at thedryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can stilltumble with partial power, the connection may be only partiallydefective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer andthe terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.
