I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. BLUE POWER BUTTON WOULD TURN ON-OFF-ON-OFF WHILE THE SCREEN FLASHED. THEN AFTER UNPLUGGING IT THE SCREEN WOULD FLICKER. THEN JUST WOULDN'T COME ON. GO ON EBAY FIND SELLER BAMMBAMMFRAN OR SEARCH FOR YOUR MONITOR. HE SELLS A PRODUCT REPAIR FOR $30(NOT INCLUDING SHIPPING). I SENT MY BOARD TO HIM. YOU CAN TAKE YOUR MONITOR APART AND SEND HIM THE INVERTER BOARD OR THE WHOLE MONITOR, ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE SHIPPING COST. HE WILL LET YOU KNOW IF IT IS FIXABLE(THE INVERTER BOARD). IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY HE ONLY CHARGES IF IT IS FIXABLE. I TOOK MINE APART AND SHIPPED THE BOARD TO HIM. HE FIXED IT AND SENT IT BACK TO ME. MY MONITOR WORKS GREAT.

FPD1975W TFT LCD monitor my monitor blinks a blue power light and flsahis a white screen but it does not turn on ?

Hello,

A flashing power light indicates a failure of the power supply, this will also cause the white screen. Here is a link to a page showing what parts need to be replaced to repair the power supply board and get your monitor back running again.

My moitor fpd1975w blinks blue power button and a white screen but does not turn on ?

The blinking power light is a good indication of a failed power supply board and the white screen backs that diagnosis up. Here is a link to information show what to look for and replace on the power supply board to get the monitor back up and running again. The repair involves replacing parts called capacitors on the power supply board and can be done in less than 20 minutes once you have the parts needed.

This is the strangest thing I've ever seen. I have a Gateway FPD1975W TFT Monitor and its always worked great. The other day it went into a sleep mode via windows, and now it wont boot up the input...

Hello,

Your monitor problem is causes by the power supply. What is happening is the power supply voltages are not stable, just enough to power the unit up. When you connect it to a video signal the power demands slightly increase and the power supply can't handle it. This is a very common problem with LCD after a few years of use. The issue with the power supply is the capacitors have started to fail. These parts are used to filter the output voltage and when they start to fail the outputs start rippling hence the problem you are having. Here is a link to a repair article that shows how to repair the Gateway FPD1975W monitor.

It was released about 2006.
I do hope you do have the PIN to unlock it, otherwise you will have to contact Gateway.

Gateway FPD1975W black 19 inch LCD

most likely is the power supply in the monitor.
gateway LCD has a building power supply in the monitor. it supplies 38W to the lamp.
since there is no display, it tells me that there is no power to the monitor.
if try another monitor and it works fine. then the problem is the monitor. (dispaly lamp is good for 17 Years- according to the tech spec.) but the power supply is pushing too much power.
other vendors max power is apporximately 30W.

make sure there is nothing behind the monitor and has good air flow. Since there is no fan in the unit. it need to vent the hot air natually.
