Question about Samsung HCL4715W 47" Rear Projection Television

48inch Samsung Tantum Rear Projection, turns on then turns itself off again straight away!

Everything was fine till this morning till i turned the tv on, once on it switched off automatically then on then off then on then off again, i have disconnected it from wall to see if this will hell it but still no luck, what is wrong with it? Please help!

Your power button may be stuck? Depress it with the TV unplugged. Make sure that the button is moving in and out properly. If this does not fix the problem, it probably needs service by an authorized service center.

I turned the set on and everything was fine, then the screen went black and mullti-colored horizontal (arched) lines were flashing across the screen. The next day I turned the set on and everything was fine for about 5 minutes then the problem reoccures again. Haven't looked for solutions till now.

A lot of times when the convergence ICs blow, there are also problems with resistors on the board (talking from Hitachi experience), or the board itself.

If the other problems, like blown resistors, are not repaired, the ICs will blow again right away. If the ICs are your only problem, then replacing them may work
