Scan color pictures

I am having issues with the scaner autosizeing the pictures when I scan them in. It will do it when I scan the picture in black and white but when I do the picture in color it keeps the color the same actual picture size and leaves alot of white space on the saved product. Help! Thanks

Does this problem happen when scanning either from the scanner glass or the automatic document feeder? Does this problem happen when scanning either from the computer using the Lexmark software or scanning using the Scan button on the printer operator panel? This will help me understand what might be causing this problem.

Heya i'm stuck on how to scan my picture on a canon smartbase mp370 and want some advise on how to do it please thanks donna

Hai Donna.
If you have Canon Solution Center (I have HP Solution Center for HP printer, the name could be various) in your dekstop after installing the driver, click the icon. Scan option usually there.

If you can't find the option you can scan manually via Microsoft Word document.
- Open Microsoft word
- Insert > Picture > From Scaner > Click
- Scan option will appear > Preview > set scan area > Click Scan > Wait until finish
- The picture will appear on your word sheet > Picture option > set in front of text
- Right click > Save as picture > choose the folder to save > Click Save
- DONE, you can open your picture file in the destined folder.

Hope this help and if helpful RATE please.

usually ..if it is a scaner when you install it it shoud have a software for scaner ..you have to power the scaner ..put the document or picture in ..after that open the scan manager or whatever the software that came with is named..and look for a button scan ...it will scan ..and when it finishes it will open the containing folder..and show you the job s done...usually like tumbnails...this can be opened in full image ...copied..or cut ...or whatever ..they usually remain in that folder for future use..unless choose to delete ..
