the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Waiting for a valid gps signal

Not sure if this will help you or not. GPS needs a clear line of sight, tall buildings, bad spot in your car or on your dash, weather conditions and pink elephants all will interfere with the GPS signal. Keep the unit low and as far forward as you can so that it has the best chance for signal. Best position i have found is 3-4 inches above the heater vents on the dash and directly in front of you since this is the spot that is generally unobstructed by anything.
One final thing, sometimes you have to shut them down start driving then turn it on, they do sometimes lock themselves up and out of things. Don't know how or why but it does happen. See pink elephants for better results.
Hope this helps

I have a TOMTOM ONE GPS..It keeps saying "waiting for valid gps signal"..what does it mean..please help

This usually means that the unit has become faulty, look in your manual as to how to perform a "Reset" this may, sort the problem. Also check the unit is in clear view of the sky/satellite, as this unit cannot, or thinks it cannot "See" the "Birds" as they are called.

Tom tom comes on but,no gps signal lost for hours.

hi you need to reset the unit at the back near the connection there is a small button that needs to be held down when holding the power button on for a few seconds. once you have done this turn it on and it will work fine

TOM TOM 910 no gps signal.

If TomTom is stating there's is "No GPS Device" then you don't have TomTom configured properly. You need to set TomTom to use "Other Wired GPS", select 4800 or 9600 bps and set to COM4. Once this is done it should detect the GPS and it will either show you your current position or it will say no valid GPS signal.

Use GPSTest application (search on google or on this website) to test your GPS. It will automatically scan your device, detect the GPS and give you a lock on your current position.

Hope that helps. quote.gif
