Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Dear Mhammad, Below is the information covered

Dear Mhammad, Below is the information covered with Randy who tried to help me but couldn't. Start from there. ********************************************************************** Dear Randy, My printer is from 9/2005, serial number FCJA72295. The repair procedure by e-mail as I see it is that I send you written explanations of my end of the repair and close-up photos, per your instruction, of the parts involved. This may result in my having to order replacement parts from Canon if they still have them. Is that the way it will work? The specific problem is that the printer has been going along okay but suddenly it simply wouldn't turn on --the power light remained dark. I tried a different wall-socket with the same result. What's the first step? Regards, Jack Owens Jack Owens ********************************************************************* Randy Prevost's Solution Hi Jack (your profile identified you as John), I'll do my best to help you resolve this problem. Here are three things to try: 1. The PIXMA iP4000 InkJet Photo Printer is equipped with an auto shutoff that could cause the printer to "go dark" when it does not received data for a predefined period of time. Try sending a print job to the printer and see if it "wakes up" automatically. 2. Trying various power sources is a good idea, but it is also possible that the power cord could be damaged or not fully connected to the printer end of the cord. If possible, try the cord on another piece of equipment with the same voltage/electrical requirements to see if the cord is ok. Also, if possible, try another cord on the printer. 3. Try removing the power for 10 minutes so that the printer can reset. If neither of these solutions help, please let me know. Your printer could need servicing. I hope this helps, Randy ********************************************************* 2/9/12 Dear Randy, "1. The PIXMA iP4000 InkJet Photo Printer is equipped with an auto shutoff that could cause the printer to 'go dark' when it does not received data for a predefined period of time." The printer could not have gone to auto shutoff since it was not turned on. I don't leave the printer turned on. I only turn it on when I'm ready to print, and in this case I simply tried to turn it on, as I've customarily done since I've had the printer, and it wouldn't turn on. "...it is also possible that the power cord could be damaged or not fully connected to the printer end of the cord." I tried connecting the power-cord of the printer to a functioning wall socket and wiggled the cord at the printer end and repeatedly pressed the "on" button with no results. "Also, if possible, try another cord on the printer." The cord is an integral part of the printer. "Your printer could need servicing." That's what I assumed when I wrote you. Regards, Jack Owens

    Dear Muhammad,
    The problem was given in my first post. To repeat, the printer has been going along okay but suddenly it simply wouldn't turn on --the power light remained dark. I tried a different wall-socket with the same result.

    What's the first step?
    Is it a faulty power-switch?
    Regards,
    Jack Owens

    Dear Jack!

    If power light is not turning on then its not just mean that there is a problem Wall Socket or Power Cord, It may be because of several reason. Three most common reason which may gives you this problem are:

    Problem of Wall Socket: As you checked it out with other wall socket, It means this is not the problem

    Problem of AC Adapter: AC Adapter actually gives input power voltage to the Printer, If problem occurs in AC Adapter, It simply don't allow the printer to Turn On

    Problem of Logic Board: Logic Board is actually board in the Printer which performs the basic functionality of Power Supplies in the Printer. If problem occur in Logic Board then it also cause the same problem.

    The solution i may suggest you is that you need to check the printer AC Adapter and Main Logic Board, Unfortunately its a problem of Pure Hardware, If your printer is still in warranty then claim the warranty. If it is out of warranty then you have to contact authorized service center of Canon Printers to solve this problem, I wish i could be there for you to solve this hardware problem because to solve the Hardware issues, product must be physically present.

    I am also giving you service manual of Canon Pixma iP4000, Download it and Check its Page No 1-6 which also suggests the same solution of this problemhttp://www.timtaylor.net/tech/iP4000%20S...

    I hope this solution helps you and you have clear picture in your mind now

    Thanks

    Dear Muhammad,
    The printer is from 2005, so it's long out of warranty.
    I've built computers, so I know my way around a bit. How about disassembling the printer and sending you closeup photos of the appropriate exposed components? That way, with your help/advice, I may be able to either locate the problem or remove the main logic board for testing/replacement.
    Regards,
    Jack Owens

    Hello Jack!

    Check the Page 1-8 in the Service Manual, I provided you. Notes of Adjustment and settings of Logic Board are given in detail on it, but There is no any pictorial assistance available for Deassembling.
    Jack! There is highly concentration and knowledge is required to identify the problem in Logic Board, So my sincere advise is that, Try to do something yourself if you are sure you can do.

    Thanks! Have a Nice Day

Randy, valve covers are easy to remove, what makes it difficult is all the stuff you need to remove to get to the valve cover. If this is your first valve cover, here's a suggestion, take a picture with you I-Phone before removal to help you know where everything goes with re-installation. Disney car tent assemble

I couldn't find the instructional manual, but I did find this image from another answer on FixYa that may be helpful: http://www.fixya.com/support/t9852139-assembly_instructions_disney_princess

Most dome tents are assembled by feeding the rounded (or bendable) poles through loops on the inside of the tent cover. Small connectors and joints should be included to put the poles together into the shape below. Good Luck!

HP laptop

Hi,

The set up says it couldn't find the harddisk because you need to slip stream the harddisk driver into the windows xp cd where as in the normal setup cd's it is not present.

You need to download the SATA AHCI controller driver and slip stream it in to your windows xp setup ..

You can find the information in detail on how to slip stream from the website below:

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows/resolving-setup-did-not-find-any-hard-disk-drives-during-windows-xp-installation/

I hope the information helped you

The cartridge slot for my SNES won't open. It sorta opens half the way, but not enough to insert a game. Could I just buy tools on ebay and remove the whole cover? Or perhaps try to fiddle with it? Wo

It IS possible that something is inside of the SNES under the cover, or that the cover is damaged. You could try fiddling with the cover to try to wiggle out whatever part of it is stuck or damage, though you probably shouldn't be too forceful.You CAN remove the SNES cover to get a better look at what's wrong, but I recommend you do it only if you know what you're doing.Sorry I couldn't be of more help; try asking one of our SNES experts.Thank for using FixYa!

I just couldn't find a code for my stereo Acura tl 2000 my s/n B90762702,please i need a help?

The 5-digit radio code is printed on a plastic card, that is inserted in a slot inside the front cover of your user's manual. I have also read that it is SOMETIMES printed under the hood of the car as well (although not on mine). If you don't have ANY of the above, you'll have to see a dealer.

When you start the car, and the radio says CODE, all you do is key in the code numbers using
the radio presets buttons numbered 1-6 below the display.

Freezes and rebooted. Mostly freezes

Hello and welcome to FixYa;

You didn't specify what type of LG phone you have;

You can try rebooting it as an option; or (cycle it once a day).

Turn phone off. Take off cover; take out battery, sim card (if your model has one);

keep them out for a couple of minutes;

replace sim card (if your model has one), replace battery; and turn phone back on.

You could try 'resetting' your phone; but all models are different and you didn't give me the model number.

Try this and see if it works for you; also, when you take battery off, you can try to gently clean the battery terminals for debris. A phone will reboot if the battery is gunked up or not making a good connection.

Sorry i couldn't give you more to go on with the information you provided. Hope that helps.
