SOURCE: Miele Tumble dryer will not produce heat .

The heating element have got old and brittle over time and finally gave up the ghost. But it is not always the element. It could be one of the safety Hi-limits have blown. All parts of the dryer will have continuity if its working properly. Test for continuity by using a meter set on Ohms,or use a poor man's meter. You can make your own poor man's meter by using an ordinary flashlight . Break the circuit in the flashlight and add a couple of wires to it so that you can make the light come on in the flashlight, that's right hot wire that flashlight. When the bulb lights up you have a circuit! You now have a poor man's meter. The next step is to check each little gizmo on the dryer that the wires attach to. All the limits attached to the side of the heat element, the door switch (when door is closed) etc.should have continuity (closed circuit)(the light should come on in the poor man's meter) If you come across an thing near the blower housing with 2 wires attached to it, that is a thermal limit, a safety or a control thermostat (So as not to get a false circuit you need to remove one of the wires to each thing you check) Look for lint buildup or blocked vent going out the house. If everything is good and you have paid the electric bill, then the timer could be bad.

SOURCE: I have a Miele dryer, model T494C. The system

It's most likely one of the heat/humidity sensor tubes that needs to be replaced. This has happened twice to my T494C in 12 years. Miele (or your dealer) will come out and replace it for a cost. Do NOT leave wet clothes (or semi-dry clothes) in the dryer for any length of time when the dryer is not operating. Apparently this is one of the problems.

Hello.. My miele dryer doesn't heat up, was told to reset the thermostat but how do I do this?

on some dryers there is a stat on the element and it has a little red button on and some time this pops out you just press it in and if there is no stat then more than likely it is your element

Miele tumble dryer

Maybe time to replace it. How can it be too much detergent? That would have the effect of lubricating the seals!

Reset the thermostat

If the dryer has dryness sensor strips they may have a coating on them repelling moisture from wet clothes. The brains might think them clothes is dry. Clean the sensors with windex and party on.

Miele t494c start and then trip the fuse on main fuse box what is the problem

Had exactly the same problem. First, I tried with changing the plug - worked ok, but wasn't really the right solution. Then, cleaned with a high pressure washer (like the one you wash your car with). The result: no more problems!
Good luck.

Can't seem to get heat My Miele dryer is 3 years old

hi,

if your condenser is blocked the airflow is restricted and can cause the thermostat at the rear of the unit behind the cover to create an open circuit. you would need to remove the rear cover and check with an electrical meter to see if the thermostat has resistance. it looks like a small round disc with a wire going to each side of it. you can order a replacement thermostat from Miele but remember to also clen your condenser before running it again.

Hope this helps.

Miele T9820 runs except no heat

you have probably blown your thermostat especially if your condenser is blocked and hasn't been cleaned. this causes the unit to over heat and to protect the heater element the thermostat blows and breaks the electrical circuit. you will need a Miele service tech or service agent to repair the unit.
