SOURCE: NAD T753 5.1 Channels Receiver Problem

It could be a heat issue, is the receiver able to get air to cool itself? Also, a bad speaker or mismatched speaker may cause this. Sometimes hooking up extra speakers may cause this. Other than that, it would be a service issue.

SOURCE: My NAD T753 goes into protection mode as soon as I turn it on.

ALso do the same thing, but also cuts out my left rear speaker. This will make a dull hiss sound during use.

If I disconnect this speaker it works for a while.

It all started with my sub shorting out it's fuse, I had it repaired four times already and is costing me more than the system. I changed all my speakers and is costing me another R 12 000-00, problm still the same.

P.S. I had my amp taken to the specialists too, but they couldn't find any fault. If i touch the side of the amp I can feel a tingling on my skin, like getting an electric shock.....

Can this also be a ground loop / earth problem?

My nad t753 reciever went into protect mode. i switched it off and was able to get it back into standby mode. The receiver switches back on but no sound comes out of the monitors. I can even switch between...

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Blown fuses don't self-heal. If power comes back there is no blown fuse.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as a root cause for intermittent shutdown.

The unit grounding screws have come loose. All the ground screws should be tightened.

I have the same amp. You have to have the same input as you do output for video...ie: s-video in/s-video out, composite video in/composite video out. I know it sucks but thats how NAD designed it.
