With a Samsung playe you go into your settings and for your BD Live feature you 'PROHIBIT" it and the disc will work fine. Here are the steps.
1) Settings
2)Network
3)BD-LIVE Interernet Connection
4)Select PROHIBIT
5)EXIT

it is good to go back ito menu to make sure it saved it.

SOURCE: DVD will not load/format new disk

I've had the same problem of the unit ejecting my blank DVD. However it was pointed out that the DVD's I'd bought were DVD+RW - I didn't know there were different types so I'm going to buy some DVD-RW but I'm worried having read your comments that it still won't work!!

SOURCE: Player does not recognize that a disk has been inserted

Hey vmon,

If you haven't been having any trouble previously with any of your DVD's, you may wish to consider cleaning the lens of the DVD player itself. Dust, lint and other contaminants can often prevent players from being able to read or even recognize any disc in the player.

Typically, you should be able to clean the lens by using any commercially available CD/DVD cleaning kit. Many major retailers will stock one or more type of kit, which normally resemble DVD's with tiny brushes or grooves on the bottom. These "brushes" should clean the surface of the optical drive by pushing debris away from the lens.

Should cleaning the lens not resolve the issue, there are a number of other problems that may have occurred. These problems generally include possible electrical failures or laser misalignment, and may need to be determined by a factory-authorized technician.

Remember that if you are unsure how to locate a repair technician in your area, you may always bring your player into your local Best Buy™ store for further assistance.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

I am having a problem burning to Blu-ray format, my project settings are HD 1920x 1080 50i 48kHz/8ch and when I go to disc burn it tells me it is 720x576 8.0 Mbps 2.9 Gbytes (output only to DVD)

i would suggest check first if inserted disk is bluray or dvd.

if disks are bluray - deleter previous settings, or even offending program and start from the beginig - from experience - faster and cheaper than finding the error in settings...

My acer 5232 will not boot up. The power is on and eventualy give a failure message suggesting to insert recovery disk. I do not have a recovery disk. It was taking a long time to boot before this...

Sounds like the disk drive has errors probably caused by a mechanical failure. You had a number of previous failures before this one and the disk is most likely unusable.
A local computer shop (not a big box store) MIGHT be able to recover your data but not your programs.
Hope this helps. I would appreciate your feed back.

Game disc does not play when inserted in the ps3

Hi,

This is an extremely problem with the PS3 and is caused by a problem with the laser on the Bluray drive which is malfunctioning and can no longer 'see' or read the game disk properly.

The PS3 uses a dual laser system. This consists of either a dual refractor type lens or two entirely seperate lenses depending on which pickup is fitted to your particular system. One laser is for reading ordinary DVD disks and PS2 disks and the other for Bluray and PS3 games.

The symptoms you describe are quite typical of a failure of one or both of these lasers.

For more information on how to resolve the problem please have a look at this FixYa Tip on the subject.

Many thanks for using FixYa.

I have a samsung blu ray 1080 hd that won't read disks when inserted it displays the message disk can not be played

Are you tryign to play back hoem made / burnt discs? If so the format more then likely is NOT compatibe with the bluray disc player....This is very common...You must rememeber bluray just came out and right now you have to expect it to only play conventional DVD's and blue disc's any other format is most likely not compatible

Error code 0122 when trying to play blue ray disk on hdtv through hdmi cable

Hy guys

I had this problem earlier on today and after much searching found a solution that worked for me.

This error message relates to piracy issues. If you are running 2 screens at once (laptop monitor and HD TV) I guess it's seen as an easy way to pirate DVD's, Blu-rays etc.

Go into your graphics card settings (i think I did this in the end by adusting screen resolution (was hungover, there's probably a quicker way - this gave me access to my ATI graphics card settings). you should be given an option of taking your HD TV as the primary monitor and disabling the built in monitor.

This should resolve the conflict that caused the 0122 error message - there are no longer 2 monitors, I guess making it harder for the pirates to comoplete their dastardly deeds - aaaarrrr.

I hope this helps some peeps out - thought I'd return the favour for my own various questions.
