Question about Philips VOIP8411 IP Phone

1 Answer

I do not have a dialing tone and cannot make or receive calls

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone out there could help me, I'm a techno phobe so you will need to make any advice idiot proof! My new VOIP8441 is set up, plugged in correctly and the displays are on in all the right ways BUt there is no dialing tone to make landline calls. Before you ask, yes, the phone jack is in!  The phone does rings and the display lights up when someone calls but the line is dead when I pick it up.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Eleanor.

hmm..i believe that the dial tone only appears after entering a number, and then pressing the green button, right?

Call forward will not turn off, have tried *74 & *73 , have rebooted and turned off then on, call divert symbol still on and phone calls still diverted.

To set Unconditional Call Forward ON Dial "*72" for a dial tone. Dial the forwarding number followed by "#". Wait for dial tone. LCD will display "Call FWD Activated"
To Cancel Unconditional Call Forward: dial "*73" and get the dial tone, then hang up. LCD will display "Call FWD Activated

but, since you have tried those two, it could be that there might still be a different type of call forward option that is still ON, on your phone like Busy Call Forward and Delayed Call Forward 1. To Cancel Busy Call Forward: dial "*91". Wait for dial tone. Hang up.
2.To Cancel Delayed Call Forward: Dial "*93" for a dial tone, then hang up.

Let me provide you a link to the website which I used as a reference for your future reference.

When dialing with my logitech skype phone I can't hear any sound until the other person answers the phone. It only happens with skype to skype calls. It works perfectly calling regular phones.

This is probably because dial tones and ringing tones are part of an archaic system. Your cell phone still makes these noises as a courtesy, and you hear the dial tones/ringing tones when you make regular calls because your phone is communicating with the standard phone system.

I have no dial tone on my SE225 and have tested all the lines and PSU which are working. Is the phone faulty or is there some setting to adjust?

I have a polycom soundpoint pro SE-225. when i either pick up the hand set to make a call OR press the speaker button to make a call i get a dial tone for a few seconds, then the dial tone jumps up and gets real loud for a few seconds and then goes completely away and will not let me make any calls. Any ideas what the heck is wrong??

Mitel 5212 no dial tone and goes straight to voicemail

Not too sure about the no dial tone issue, but you can check to see if the DND is turned on...
Press the Blue Superkey and scroll thru till you see DND (Do Not Disturb) is on and shut it off.

Cannot receive calls and dial tone flashing

You have a feature active on your phone it's more than likely a call forward feature which would redirect you calls. The broken dial tone or stutter dial tone is an indicator a feature is active. Contact you system admin for the clear all feature code and the clear all call forwarding codes.
