My T.V. is a sony KP-53XBR25. I turned my T.V. on one morning, and about 30 seconds later it shut off and won't turn back on. I saw that the two outside tubes are popping, but not the center one. I'm just wondering if it could be a bad circuit to the middle tube. The tubes flash when I plug it in, but every so often it won't do anything. I've stopped messing with it and will probobly call around tomorrow, but I am very interested in any insight to my question which can be offered from any expert t.v. repairers out there. Thanx

This sounds like a problem i had at the shop some time ago. If i got the right case history. this might be a bad tube. I Found in my case. it was the green tube.. also a shorted ic 7201 and a bad resistor 7301. It might be another tube. this might be other issues but without examing it this is my best guess :)
Sounds like a bad red projection tube, disconnect red tube socket and try again if tv stays on reconnect tube soket and adjust screen controls on front of tv under the front panel which you will have to remove to do any of this. There are six adjustment controls 3 are for focus for each color and 3 screen controls for each color. Look close at the black plastic control module should be labled R G B for focus and R G B for screens. Good Luck!
i think the convergence amps are weak, or the akb circut has caused the tubes to go bad, google your model number to see if it is in the tube problem. sony made some projos w/ bad tubes in them. tv lasts only three or four years,no cause i had one
You have a bad blue picture tube. If you replace it the red and green will be weak and probably go sooner than you think. Everytime I had to replace a tube in a sony projo tv i had to replace all 3 picture tubes at the same time. It's very expensive if you don't have any type of warranty coverage.
it maybe you blue crt (picture tube). mine turn blue and then shuts off. i got it repaired for 460. 300 for the part 160 to install. you can try to adjust the voltage settings behind the speaker screen and see if that clears the problem. if not its you blue crt.
Sounds like the green picture tube is arking or shorting out and at that very second the safety circuit senses the problem and makes the complete set turn off,the only way to repair is the replacement of the green picture tube and it can be too expensive.Maybe if you move the complete set from one side of the room to another you might get lucky.Maybe!!!!!!!!!!! is worth to try.
