Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console
As title really, i bought the R4DS and even when i insert it with out the mem card in it , the ds lite switchs on , and then it says loading in the top screen but thats all it does . no buttons work etc , it just stays saying loading ?
i tried with mem cards in with the 1.18 kernal on etc and it does the same
is the R4DS cartridge no good ? is
first of all , check your r4 version.
there are many.
have you put the right firmware on your r4?
original : http://r4ds.cn/download/r4_v1.18_kernel.html
r4 revolution pro : http://www.r4dspro.com/download_en.html
r4 ultra and de luxe : http://www.r4deluxe.com/en/down.asp
r4 III : http://www.r4dsl.net/download-en.asp
after that it should work.
(or maybe you should format your memory card first.)

The R4 will freeze if it encounters any files it "doesn't like". Format the memory card and put JUST the menu files and one game on it. If it still doesnt work, try a new memory card. Make sure your memory card is SD and not SDHC, the latter is not compatible with the R4.
If all this doesnt work, then your R4 is probably a dud.
