Instructions on how to replace the slider part of the phone

Hello,
Do you have instructions on how to take apart the slider part of the samsung a737? My daughter got a paper star caught in there and now her screen isn't working.

Thank you for your help
Rita

    Hello,

My phone was dropped on the sidewalk, and the screen started to glitch every once and a while. Now, I am not even sure when it is on or off, because the entire screen is black! HELP!

    Thanks in advance..

I don't remember my phone dropping, but now, whenever I slide my phone upwards, the screen turns black. If I slide the screen downwards, its glitches.

i shut the phone off and when i went to turn it on the screen was black

1. take off the battery cover and take off the battery
2. take off the sticker hiding 2 screws that used to be behind the battery
3. unscrew every screw that you see on the back
4. take off the back
5. gently take off the chip. its safe unless your force it off
6. gently take off the slider part
7. unscrew the screws on the slider part
8. take off the 2 parts that are both beside each side of the LCD screen
9. now you can do anything you want

It is best to take the phone to a professional mobile service center and have them remove it for you.

I have samsung e250 with same problem.
sound plays with static, then disappears.
I try to shake the slider or press it hard, and sound comes back.
seems to be a bad connection to the speaker, or maybe a dry solder joint on one of the ICs.

You need to place the phone in a bag of rice for 24 hours. This usually works to get all the moisture out of the phone. I hope this trick helps.

How to remove the slider portion of a samsung model sgh-A737

I have a U600 phone, but maybe this is a similar construction. I was able to detach the slider by removing 6 tiny screws hidden behind the sticker which you can see when you take out the battery.

Samsung Sgh-a737 speaker not working

A very similar problem on a U600 was posted here. Maybe your ribbon cable is (partly) broken as well. When you slide the phone 'open', some copper tracks on the ribbon cable don't seem to make contact. When you close it again (or at least a bit), the tracks make contact again. After a while, the rip in the ribbon cable gets bigger and eventually, the tracks won't make contact anymore when your phone is closed again. I'm NOT a reseller of any kind, but I think you'll need a replacement for your cable. I had similar problems with my U600 and after the replacement it works just fine.

Trying to remove the slider on SGH-A737

To remove the slider mechanism, take out the 4 visible screws first (under the battery cover). Then on the back of the phone at the bottom, remove the 2 little rubber circles with a tiny flat head screwdriver to reveal 2 more screws, take those out. Take out the 2 screws on either side of the flex cable that is coming out just below the battery compartment. Next is the part that took me hours to figure out. L Beneath where the battery sits is a long oval shaped thing (=======) <- looks something like that (sorry I don't have pictures). This is actually a sticker. Peel this up and remove the 2 screws under it (keep the sticker intact becase you will need to replace it later). This will detach the slider from the phone. Make sure to gently disconnect the flex cable from the mainboard first.

From there you can see more screws that will help you take apart the sliding part of the phone to access the lcd screen if you need to replace it (which is what I was doing). It's pretty easy from there to get everything else apart. Make sure when you disconnect the cables from the back of the LCD screen, that you flip up the little release tabs on the connectors first.

I need to replace lcd display on the samsung sgh-a737 phone.

I had the same problem with my son's phone. Purchased an LCD from Y'ALL online. Lot's of aggravation/frustration but I was able to replace it with much technical help from two of my co-workers. You need a lot of patience but it can be done. Basically you have to dis-assemble the entire phone including removing the slider. I took some digital photos along the way, however they are a bit blurry. I can do something up in powerpoint or adobe for instructions. But be aware.... even with this it is not an easy fix.
