How do i turn on my webcam?

Hello,

First, make suer you have the camera drivers installed.

Here's how you can use the camera with Yahoo messenger, for instance:

Head to the Yahoo home page, turn on Yahoo Messenger using the 'Messenger' link and log in using your account name and password. You'll need to create an account if you haven't done so already (see Resources below).

Click the 'Messenger' followed by the 'Start My Webcam' option. This will load your webcam, and is among the ways you can get your webcam to begin broadcasting.

Click on the camera icon that appears in a chat window while you are talking to a friend

Click on a contact from your Contact List, then click 'Invite to View My Webcam.' This opens a new IM window with your webcam active.

Click the 'View Webcam' link while talking to others in IM. This will allow you to see their webcams.

I cannot find the "video and voice set up" in yahoo messenger that's why i cannot use my cyberlinkyoucam as my webcam

Yahoo! Messenger offers voice services, such as PC-to-PC, PC-to-cell or PC-to-landline calling. You can also participate in chat rooms and use the voice chat feature instead of typing. However, slow connection speeds or improper settings can interfere with voice activation in Yahoo! Messenger.

Instructions
  1. Step 1 Reduce echoes by using a headset instead of speakers and a microphone. Place the microphone farther away from the speakers, if possible. Adjust the volume of the speakers and the microphone.
  2. Step 2 Verify your Internet connection speed if your friend's voice sounds choppy. The computer modem speed must be 56K or higher in order to send voices or sounds.
  3. Step 3 Go to "Actions" and "Call Setup" in Yahoo! Messenger if you can't hear, or your friend can't hear you. Test the sound by following the instructions that proceed call setup.
  4. Step 4 Click on the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your computer screen if you want to test the sound manually. Uncheck "Mute," if necessary, and make sure sound levels are above 50 percent.
  5. Step 5 Pick "Preferences" in Yahoo! Messenger if you have trouble with connecting to the voice server. Choose "Connection," then select "No Proxies." Log in to Messenger again to check the voice server.

Can't use the built in cam for Yahoo Messenger.

Some webcams have this problem in combination with Yahoo.
I was able to fix this by using a program called SplitCam. I allows for webcam sharing, but it also is compatible with most webcams. You can install it and then use that as the video source in Yahoo.
I found a nice description about using SplitCam for this.

Hope it works for you.
