Question about Philips AZ1020 Boombox

Open Question

I am all right now! Thanks anyway.

I just posted a query that began with:
Recently I have acquired at a yard sale a Philips Magnavox Bass Reflex Speaker System AZ1010 without a manual.  Since you don’t list that model on your site, I hope it operates like an AZ1020.

I have searched better and found the manual for the AZ1010-17 from  I see that the Play/Pause button should work the way I expect it to.  I don’t need to fix it, however, since I can switch tracks while the CD is playing.

Thanks anyway.

When i buy sony cassette tape, it records good on just one side of a cassette. the other side rather outside mic or inside off radio is very low almost impossible to hear up close.

Check and clean the mechanism parts of your casette player mechanism. Look whether there is dirt accumulated on the capstan shaft and pintch rollar of the mechanism. This is the main cause of tape slip and irregular output from it. OK.

CD player freezes on certain tracks. My only way to stop it is to push the advance arrow to go to the next track It seems to happen on every CD I play.

try to clean your optical lens, by a cotton badge and put some oil on moving parts. if ended you need to replace optical assembly. or try to re align potentiometer that control the focus of the lens.

Bass problem

You're getting some sort of capacitor discharge noise on your signal. There's no easy fix for that. It will have to be taken in for service.
