This is a convergence problem and can be either bad connections at the convergence ICs or defective ICs. Try resoldering the pins first. If that fails, replace the ICs. These ICs are large, black and attached to a heatsink. It should be marked STKxxx.

Keep me posted.

Thanks for posting any solutions you find. I did take the back off it and check for loose parts. Everything is intact. I vacuumed the bulbs and the screen from the inside with a brush attachment and the picture is so much more bright and crisp but the bow is still there.?

RCA P52960 Problem (bowed picture)

Normally this is either bad connections on the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder, you should be able to fix this. First locate the convergence ICs: large black ICs attached to a heat sink that shouldbe marked STKxxx. Try resoldering the pins on these ICs first. If that fails, replace the ICs.

Bowed at top and bottom

No amount of cleaning is going to fix this problem, Go to menu look for setup see if you have convergences listed on menu if so try auto converge. If convergence is not on menu then you have a open fuse next flyback transfomer FL231 middle fuse.

This is a convergence problem. If you can solder, you should be able to repair this yourself. Please update this to confirm the model as P52960 and whether or not you wish to attempt the repair and I will supply additional details and instructions.

Rca 52" p52960 convergence bows

I wish it was that simple. On this chassis there are many parts that have gone bad in the past to cause this very symptom. So many in fact that there is a repair kit available that contains common failure parts p/n 250686-KIT. This is NOT a DIY project as many of the parts are small and would be hard to locate and impossible to replace by anyone not having superior soldering skills. It would not surprise me if the repair on this set would set you back about $350. If you can get a free estimate, great, but if you can swing it, you may be better off putting that money towards a new DLP rear projection NON RCA HDTV. I have had good luck with Toshiba sets for the last several years, and Consumer Reports seem to agree with me.

RCA 52" Big Screen TV model;P52920BL Chassis;PTK195KB PICTURE BOWED AFTER FUSE BLOWN.

You have bad convergence IC's.. If your not experienced in troubleshooting electronics or soldering, you should have a trained tech take a gander at the set. Its not worth risking life and limb to save a few bucks, Good Luck
