Raise the hood and find the 4 push-in retainers that go along the top of the front grille. Then when you pop off that trim on the headlight you will have a little room to work with. Remove those retainers. Get a flat-bladed screwdriver and a rag, place the rag above or below the trim on the headlight. The rag will protect the headlight from getting scratched when you pry up on the trim with the screwdriver. The trim will pop out towards you. That should give you enough room to remove the headlight. There are two hex-headed screws right on top you can easily see holding the headlight and then one more if you lean in and look down further. Remove the 3 bolts. Now just wiggle and lift up on the headlight and it should come loose. You may need to unplug the side marker bulb wiring to give you more room. Keep the rag wrapped around the trim piece to again avoid scratching the headlamp. Then you will see the big round black plug cover to turn and remove to gain access to the bulb. The bulbs are halogen type bulbs so don't touch them with your hands. The oils from your skin will cause the bulbs to burn out prematurely. Use a clean cloth to handle the bulbs. Reinstall the headlamp the same way you removed it. You will see how it goes back in once you get it out.

SOURCE: 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. Passenger front low beam headlamp out

FACE THE VEHICLE SO THAT BATTERY IS ON YOUR RIGHT;
2.REMOVE THE BLACK PLASTIC PIECE THAT RUNS OVER RADIATOR BETWEEN HOOD LATCH AND FAN. IT IS ABOUT 53 1/2" LONG AND HOLDS THE HOOD PROP CLIP. (3 PLASTIC PUSH RETAINERS & 2 SHEET METAL SCREWS);
3.REMOVE THE GRILL ASSEMBLY UNDERNEATH THE PIECE IN STEP 2 BY PUSHING DOWN FIRMLY ON 4 RETAINER CLIPS WHICH RUN ALONG THE TOP. USE A WIDE SLOT SCREWDRIVER. PULL UP GENTLY ON GRILL ASSEMBLY. IT WILL POP OUT. THE GRILL ASSEMBLY EXTENDS UNDER EACH HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (HA) AND IT DISPLAYS THE CHEVROLET LOGO IN THE MIDDLE. MY GRILL ASSEMBLY POPPED OUT EASILY AND ALL THE OTHER RETAINER CLIPS ON THE BOTTOM AND BENEATH AND TO THE SIDE OF HA WERE AUTOMATICALLY RELEASED WITHOUT ANY FUSS;
4.ON TOP OF HA SEE ONE TAB (ABOUT 1" LONG)ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND ONE ON THE LEFT (THE ONE ON L IS CLOSER TO THE FENDER);
5.PULLUPWARDDIRECTION ON TABS. THEY WILL SLIDE UPWARD A COUPLE OF INCHES AND WILL RELEASE THE HA WHICH YOU CAN THEN PULL OUT TOWARDS YOU;
6.AT BACK OF THE HA, REMOVE 2 ROUND RUBBER CAPS (ABOUT 4" IN DIAMETER)--ONE FOR LOW BEAM--ONE FOR HIGH. REVEAL BULBS. UNSNAP THE WIRE HARNESS FROM BULB BASE AND TURN BULB 1/4 TURN CLOCKWISE (REMEMBER YOU ARE FACING THE TRUCK)
7.REPLACE BULB(S). #9006 BULB IS GRAY-BASE, FOR HIGH BEAM ON OUTSIDE. #9005 IS BLACK-BASE, LOW BEAM TO INSIDE OF HIGH BEAM.
CHANGING HIGH AND LOW AND REASSEMBLY TOOK ABOUT HALF HOUR. GOOD LUCK. ALTERNATIVE: IF YOU ARE REPLACING THE PASSENGERSIDE HEADLIGHT JUST REMOVE THE AIR FILTER COVER AND PULL PLUG OUR FROM BEHIND HEADLIGHT AND REPLACE. BE CAREFUL HANDLING LIGHT BULB. TO CHANGE THE ONE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE JUST REACH IN FRONT OF THE BATTERY TO ACCESS THE PLUG AND HEADLILGHT. TOOK ABOUT 5 MINUTES. ENJOY YOU TRAILBLAZER, GREAT TRUCK.

SOURCE: Driver's side headlamp is dim compared to

Check the earth wire on the dim headlight, it has probably come adrift and the one bulb is trying to find an earth through the other bulb, causing them to operate in series at half voltage each.

Why is my Passenger headlamp dim. No other lights affected on right side.

The passenger side is grounding threw the drivers side. When you pull the drivers side light the other looses it ground. It is actually grounded threw the bulb. The reason it is dim. It could be the plug. Find the ground and run a new one to the bulb from the body.

I have a passenger side headlamp out again. I just replaced both of them at Christmas. A coworker said that it was probably the ballast. Does my Mazda 5 have a ballast and if so how do I replace it?

it would only have ballast if they are hid headlights make sure your not touching glass part of the bulb when changing bulb oils from your fingers will cause bulb to burn out early

2011 Legacy with front light issues

Interesting question. Bulbs do burn out, but premature failure is often caused by overvoltage from the alternator. Have your dealer check the alternator for correct voltage AND waveforms. You can check it yourself with a multimeter. If the battery voltage is more than about 14.5Vdc, eg 15+, the alternator has to be replaced.

Passenger side low beam

Plz Check The Ground And Power Wires Feeding Bulb(s). Also, You May Want To Check Headlamp Relay. Hope This Helps. Plz Be Sure Not To Handle Bulbs With Bare Hands ( THE OIL FROM YOUR FINGERS WILL CAUSE THE BULB TO BURN OUT PREMATURELY).

Are you sure the bulb is not burned out? Switch it with the bulb from the driver's side to make sure. Also, do you have power at the WHITE/TAN wire at the headlamp connector? If there is no power there, you either have a bad connection at the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) or a broken wire beween the TIPM abd the headlamp socket or a defective TIPM.

There are no seperate fuses for your headlamps. They get their power directly from the headlamp drivers in the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM)

I need to change the headlamp on my 2006 Maxima - driver side.

The drivers side is the one I have changed which is pretty simple. Remove the air filter and compartment and you can access it from there. Apparently the passengers side requires the removal of the washer bottle.
