Husband put card in card reader- everything went well. He put the card back in camera and now there is an error 99 and an error cf. Won't let me format and turning on and off and taking out battery does nothing. Also, tried a different card and same thing happened. Please, PLEASE tell me camera isn't lost forever! It's only a year old and I need it for weddings!!

First check to see if any of the pins are bent in the card slot in your camera and in your card reader That is usually the cause. If any of the pins are bent flat you will have to take it in to have it repaired. I you cant tell by the pins then look at the end of your card that has the holes. if it looks like they are damaged in any that is it.
