Question about Philips AZ1020 Boombox

3 Answers

CD operation problem. Need manual.

Recently I have acquired at a yard sale a Philips Magnavox Bass Reflex Speaker System AZ1010 without a manual.  Since you don’t list that model on your site, I hope it operates like an AZ1020.

Is there a manual online?

I cannot see how to get it to start playing a CD after I have set the track number I want.  Pressing the Play/Pause button changes the display to 11 and starts playing from Track 1, even though I have set a different track number.

Then it keeps playing Track 1 repeatedly.

The other button that is in question is the CD Mode button, whose operation I have not figured out.  Pressing it produces a displayed P.  The word “Program” appears in the display no matter how many times the CD Mode button is pressed.

If you tell me it needs repair, is it worth repairing?

Thank you!

You'll just need to disable the Random Play mode. I'll give you the link to the manual in a minute.

Cd boombox and headphones

HelloWhen a headphone pin is inserted into a headphone socket, it is normal that the internal speaker of the system will cut OFF. It is normal operation, and not a fault. The speakers of such portable sets are wired such that it should cut OFF when headphone pin is inserted into it. We inserts headphone pin to hear the reception or CD music personally. So there is no need for an output from its speakers. Isn't it?

CD player freezes on certain tracks. My only way to stop it is to push the advance arrow to go to the next track It seems to happen on every CD I play.

try to clean your optical lens, by a cotton badge and put some oil on moving parts. if ended you need to replace optical assembly. or try to re align potentiometer that control the focus of the lens.
