Question about Toshiba 26HLV66 26 in. LCD TV/DVD Combo

1 Answer

The 26HLV66 turns off after about an hour.

And once it does that, you have to reset it to turn it on, and then it turns of quicker after that.

Is it a bad LCD lamp or is it overheating?
Is there a way to fix it?
How much would it cost?

Thanks.

Sounds like a main board problem, basically a short if still in warranty call to have serviced if not, honestly a 26 hdtv these days would be cheaper to purchase new. wait till black friday or any time really the way the economy is is opening up great prices on hdtv technology, just my two cents

I will be watching tv and the screen freezes then turns white

So if are just getting white/grey glowing screen now? If that is the case, look to see if you do have 12vdc feeding the T-CON board, check the surface mounted fuse on T-CON board also.

you will need to remove the jack pack cover on the back of the unit (plastic cover), it should pop off, then remove the screws holding the stand on (should be 5 if memory serves).. after that the stand should slide away from the tv.

make sure your wall bracket kit can support the weight and that the screws you embed in the wall are using hercules hooks, anchor bolts, or something similar... last thing you want is a dead tv and ripped up drywall.

hope this helps,
trin
