Most tripods have a standard screw on top. This allows users to mix&match tripods and heads. Thus, just about any head should fit your tripod. If you're not sure, take your tripod with you to a good camera shop and see if any of their heads fit. If one fits, it's a pretty good bet that the others will as well.
The choice of the type of head (pan-head or ball-joint), its weight, cost, and other factors are, of course, up to you.

Take your tripod to a camera store, and see if they have any that fit. All of my tripods that take quick release heads take the same one.

Yes, your 600d has 1/4 threads at the bottom wich is ideal for tripod mounts, take the tripod head off the tripod, and line up the 1/4 tripod head and camera and screw in the tripod head into the camera (bottom), if any questions contact me thanks 4_15_2014_1_41_51_am.png

How do you remove the pan head

That tripod was not designed to have the head removed. if you do get the head apart, there is no way to attach another head without lots of re-milling and work. Go to and buy a Manfrotto tripod. these come without head and can easily be up fitted.

Mike, does my Sunpak PRO 423PX have a reversible head fitting?

There is no point in addressing queries to individuals - none of us are members of staff, merely volunteers who try to help.

You can get a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter at any reputable camera store, or on eBay.

I have a Canon S2 IS digital camera and I want to buy a tripod which will fit the camera. I saw the ad on page and wanted to know if my camera...

It would be silly for a tripod maker to make a tripod that wouldn't fit the tripod socket in a camera. You can go ahead and buy it with confidence.

My tripod is in 2 peices

Usually with expensive tripods the head and body come in 2 parts. So the top should just screw onto a medal screw on the top. But usually cheaper ones come as one unit. if this is the case it might just be broken and need to be glued or scrapped. Its hard to tell without a picture of both parts.

I need an Opteka tripod quick release replacement

Not quite a solution, but you look at hundreds of quick releases at and most of them have measurements of the bottom part that fits into the head opening. I didn't see that brand listed, but they have some pages where their customers have told them what fits on a tripod and they added it. They even thanked the customer by name on the webpage.
