Bernina Activa 135

There is a problem with my foot pedal not starting the machine. Somehow I think it is connected to the winding mechanism because the machine light comes on but it doesn't respond to pushing the foot pedal. Help!

I've looked closely at the foot pedal, wiggled all the wires, and made sure it was plugged in correctly. Too bad. I just had my yearly tune up last month. I guess I'll hae to go back. Thank you for trying though.

my machine seems to be doing the same thing, I've tried turning it off and on and when I do get it started, it has a hard time stopping, i.e. I need to turn it off at the power.

    Does anyone have a suggestion?

Is it plugged RIGHT into the machine? Is there something caught underneath the foot pedal? might be time for a check up at your local sewing machine mechanic.

Foot pedal on my berninca active 135 not responding

My foot control began working sporadically so we replaced the brushes in the foot control. It's a pain (hold your breath and hope you don't break any plastic latches), but it worked. You could also consider replacing it.

I have a Bernina Patchwork 140. How do I change the needle to stop in the down position? The sewing manual is no help.

As far as I know, the Patchwork 140 doesn't have a needle stop up/down button. You'll need to use the hand wheel to bring the needle up or down, as needed. The Bernina machines that have a needle stop up/down button have this button below the LCD screen. (On those machines, it's usually the left-most button below the LCD.) I suspect the index giving a page number for the Needle Stop Up/Down button is a artifact of using the same index for multiple machines.

The manual for the Patchwork 140 is available at Manuals Lib here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1002243/Bernina-Activa-131.html . The Bernina 135 has the needle stop up/down button. See https://www.bernina.com/en-US/Support-US/Machines/BERNINA-activa/BERNINA-activa-135 . The manual for this model is https://www.bernina.com/getdoc/90f75840-2b12-4f46-88f2-76f09e35d8d4/030529-52-04_0303_a135-a145_EN .

I hope this helps.

Free print manual

there are Bernina manuals as pdf's on their website, www.bernina.com, then go to Support, choose your manual in the drop down box and download it. There is not one there for the Activa 130 but the 135 is there and the 125, both will be very close to your mode.

Attachments for 140 activa

Do you mean a presser foot to sew rolled hem or shell hem edges?
11_15_2011_1_23_35_am.jpg
If so, the Bernina website lists the accessories here:http://www.bernina.com.au/product_detail-n25-i61-sEN.html

Bernina feet 68 and 69 are rolled hem/shell, just different widths. However, I think the feet for the Activa are the new 3 digit numbered feet? I know there is the old style and new style attachment system for Bernina feet, if you look at the presser feet you got with the machine, they will have a code on the front of the foot; buy any new feet with same code format.

As to where to buy, I always start with the manufacturer/distributor in my country first. So start with www.bernina.com, go to your country, then "contact us" page and give the local office a call. They should be able to confirm the exact foot code you need and sell it to you or direct you to a local dealer who can.

Bernina Activa 135 foot pedal problem

If you can get acess to or borrow another foot pedal to try I would do this first any of the Activa, Artista range fit to try. The fault may not be in the foot pedal but in the main CB of the machine. This can give a fualt of lights on but no motor drive. In this case the board would need replacing by a technician. Hope this may help.
