SOURCE: the lever on my bathroom mixer tap is getting

Easier to buy a new one and replace it. You can pull it apart after shutting the water off by removing the plastic cap (has a small screwdriver groove) beneath it is a phillips head screw, remove it and pull up, remove the retaining nut and pull the assembly apart. You can then take steel wool and polish it and put it back togethere but it will soon do it again.

SOURCE: The kitchenaid speed lever is bent and jammed

Hi TIMDEIST, I hate it when you drop your mixer... they’re really not designed for gravity testing. Let’s see what you can do to get it fixed and operable again. The good news is that this can be fixed quite easily (OK, maybe a little effort) by yourself, if you are a DITY type person, feel adventurous, and your mixer is not under warranty. Be sure you have the Parts List manual on hand. If you're lacking one, you can download a PDF version from the KA website at:
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals& Guides> then enter the visitor type “Consumer and enter the 6 character model number, in this case K45SSW, and then select the file under Parts List (1) K45SSWH0.pdf (341.41 KB) (definitely check to see it this matches your mixer).
Although not providing step by step instructions, the Parts List manual provides an exploded view of the various component assemblies allowing you to see how the mixer all fits together. It is helpful for the disassembly, troubleshooting, and reassembly of your mixer.
Turn to pages 6 & 7, titled “Motor And Control Parts”, and locate Ill. Nos. 1, 2, 3, & 4. #3 is your Switch Lever and stud. If you can’t straighten it out then you will need to replace it. It might also be a good idea to check and see if anything else might be out of alignment due to the sudden stop when it was dropped.
As far as parts go, here are five potential vendors in no particular order:;;;; and (for grease). Prices can vary widely between vendors, so do some comparison shopping. Here are some links to several excellent websites that detail the disassembling/greasing and reassembly of a KA Mixer.
Finally, here are some links to several excellent websites that detail the disassembling/reassembly of a KA Mixer.

Between these three websites and their excellent pictures and descriptions and your Parts List manual, you should now be able to completely disassemble, fix/replace your Switch Lever, and reassemble your mixer.
Good luck, I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

How do you tilt the back up on the k45 kitchen stand mixer?

To raise the head you move the locking lever back & lift the front of the motor unit up. To lower it you also move the locking lever to the back and then lower the head and release or push the locking lever forward to lock the head down while using it.

How do I replace the speed control lever on a kitchenAid artisan mixer

Remove back cap, remove white wire and black wire from lower corner of speed control plate, both on same side on adjacent terminals. Remove the gasket thing at the back as well.
Remove chrome drip ring from around planetary, knock pin out of planetary and remove the planetary.
Flip upside down on a towel and remove pedestal by taking out hinge pin (1 locking screw from underneath inside pedestal)
Remove all screws from bottom side of gearcase, 5 around planetaty, 2 in the middle and 2 at the back.
You can now seaparate the gearcases to get to the speed control lever which is held on by 1 screw.

Beaters will not stay up in my Oster stand mixmaster. The eject lever will not lock them in. Can it be fixed? Or could it be that I need new beaters because they are worn out and don't fit

They need to be replaced or the locking mechanism does, but in the meantime, wind some thread around the beater end and this may keep them in temporarily.

When itry to make bread dough in the mixer, the bowl locking mechanism doesnt work properly and the bowl moves and top of mixer jumps around how can i fix this

You need to make sure that the hinge pin is tight, turn machine completely upside down and tighten the slotted screw up inside the pedestal. If that doesn't fix it you will need to check that the locking lever is properly engaging in the slot. You may need to "SLIGHTLY" file the slot in the pedestal that the lever engages into. If you go mad with the file you could wreck the slot.

Kitchenaid stand mixer K45SS willnot tilt the head I do not understand How to fix this problem

Put a towel on the bench and put it upside down on the towel. Wriggle lever and pedestal about and it may free up. The lever may be disengaged from the locking mechanism. The machine will need to come apart to fix any mechanism lever problems.

The locking mechanism won't lock anymore so it has to be held down to mix

The "return spring" is broken or unhooked. If it is unhooked, you can open the unit up and reattach it. If the plastic holder for the spring is broken then you could try to fix it (I won't mention a 15watt soldering iron).
Otherwise, replace the mixer; temporarily, use a large rubberband to hold the lever in locked position.
