Question about Kenmore 63252 Microwave Oven
Yes your diode can keep it from heating but it usually makes a loud growling if diode is bad. there is also another thermal disc on the other side of the oven that could be open. usually can see it in a hole in the plastic with 2 wires. if there is continuity on both this and the mag thermal, you may have a bad magnetron

SOURCE: Microwave heats but slowly.
This is the second time I have requested assitance on this site with no response. The beginning of this thread dates back two months. Why would I ever want to pay for support when it is so poor at this level?

It sounds like the magnetron may have
either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high
voltage required to run it.
Make sure the !!!!capacitor is discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 on high resistance range for short circuit, the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.
