Laptop dell Vostro 1500 / Belkin N1 Problems for to connect to Internet

At home there are 1 Desktop and 3 laptops. All are conected to Internetvia Router Belkin N1. All is well, no problems until last Monday. All machines are normal but not mine.

My machine is a Laptop Dell 1500. Since last Monday I can't connect toInternet. I don't know why. I checked the conwireless configuration andit seems to be all right. But I do a ping to the router and sometimes Isee it, sometimes I don't see it. I've formated my laptop and I'vereinstalled the drives for the wireless from Dell. I can see therouter , I can use the routers's administrator but Internet? NO.

A curious thing that happens is that I change the IP addresses in therange that gives me the router and try. I put it backto the IP automatic detect i I can connect to internet , but the connectionlasts 2 or 3 seconds. That way when I started the problem. LostInternet connection. I fixed it worked for a few minutes and thenreturned to lose internet.

Please He lpme!

The problem was solved.................. ALONE. I turn on mi machine 2 days after and all right.
I don't know but i have a printer lexmark wireless. My son wantedto print and the printer didn't have connection to the red. I reconfiguredit and the printer as ok. Maybe a Bad wireless conection from my printer cause my problem with my laptop? I fogot to tell that sometimes I got the message in my laptop that another machine had the same IP address that my laptop.

Thanks for being detailed but I feel more info will be needed. Please tell me what anti-virus/security software you use....

Have you tried resetting the router back to factory defaults. Also, have you tried upgrading the firmware on your router?

I connect to the Internet via a Belkin N1 Router which has the latest firmware update. I have Toshiba laptop which connects through the N1 fine. I recently bought a Sony Vaio laptop and I am unable to connect to the internet through it. The Vaio sees the router no problems, but whenever I try to set up a connection I get the error message that the router has failed to respond. I have had the Vaio checked out and the wifi is working ok. It cannot be the setup of the Vaio that is the problem, as it is the same as the Toshiba. So the problem must lie with the router.

Any suggestions ...this is driving me crazy.

nope...
your desktop can also go onlie using the wireless belkin router,so this router will now act as a distributor, you need to setup the router between the modem and the computer that is wired,i hope that when you say modem it is the one provided to you by your internet service provider, what you need to do is to conect the modem to the router and the router to you desktop computer, you desktop computer will go online using the wired connection to the belkin rotuer and you laptops will use the wireless connection..

Check that the wireless drivers are installed properly on both your laptop and desktop. THe certificate error is because your laptop does not "trust" your computer. Under network conections click add a connection ec, and when you try to conect, microsoft should ask you weva to trust the connections from computer to computer that should do it :D

Conectivity issue

Norton internet security in some cases blocks anonymous requests for internet access. (your laptop) There are several ways to fix it.
1. If you go to Norton's configuration, you can select things that norton will unblock and allow.
2. Call Belkin and ask them what type of ports would need to be forwarded in order for your laptop to work.

Belkin n1 wireless usb adapter

Dear Friend,

1. Connect your ISP modem to your PC and configure as Bridge mode.

2. Remove your ISP modem and connect your wireless router to your PC and configure as PPPOE mode. (refer http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/reviews/article.php/3645166 if any doubt on configuration)

3. Now connect your ISP modem to wireless router, The modem should connect to your WAN cable.

4. And Give the wireless router's IP in your laptop as Gateway (In TCPIP settings of your Laptop wireless adapter / or configure DHCP)

5. Now you can access internet on both systems.
