How to replace check valve on Pegasus kitchen faucet?

Received replacement check valve, but cannot figure out how to remove the old one. Would rather not remove the whole assembly to get to it. Thanks.

SOURCE: kitchen faucet Remove

All faucets have a hot and cold line input. The single handle units have a mixing valve within the handle. Aside from removing the water lines there is usually some type of connecting bolts for the base plate as well that will need to be removed prior to removing the faucet. Do not forget to turn the shut off valves off at the wall before you remove the water lines.

Good Luck

How to remove a single hole kitchen faucet

There are shut off valves inside the cabinet under the faucet. Shut off the valves and open the faucet to relieve the water pressure in the line. Loosen the lock nut that is behind the sink directly under the faucet and unscrew the water lines. Next step is to lift up the faucet from the cabinet. Reverse the process to install a new faucet.

Do you get water when you disconnect hose from the faucet? If so, perhaps plastic backflow preventor in the faucet is stuck?

My Pegasus kitchen faucet leaks at the top, even when off. I'm not sure which model, it has one handle with a side spray. What do I do.

Turn off water supply to sink. Wrap top of goose neck with rag and use a pipe wrench to remove ( lefty loosey, righty tighty). Inspect interior of faucet for worn o - ring or gasket and take damaged part to local hardware store for replacement parts. The gasket or o - ring may be on the gooseneck ( the part the water comes out of between the handles or below a single handle faucet).
Good luck!!

No water pressure on Pegasus kitchen single handle faucet

Those new faucets generally have a lower water pressure due to legislation passed in 2007 that reduced that maximum allowable gpm (gallons per minute). I hate to tell anyone this but there is little if anything you can do. First of all, make sure the shut-off valves are open completely. I know that sounds elementary but I've seen it a bunch of times.

Also check to see if the aerator is blocked with a bit of debris.....unlikely if the flow is uniform but still an easy fix.

Hope I didn't break your spirit too much....

No water pressure in kitchen sink. Not the aerator.

First of all we like to check the easy/cheap things first.

1. Are the shut-off valves closed lightly?

If they are closed, open them.....easiest fix of them all.

2. If the valves are open then possibly a washer is shifted.

Turn off the water supply at the valves under the sink. Remove the handles by removing the set screw under the handles. There should then be a packing nut which holds all of the "guts" of the faucet in. Remove this nut and pull out the long stem. On the bottom of this stem is a flat washer that may have been damaged or is just slightly shifted. EIther way, I would replace it if the faucet is more then a few years old as it is cheap and you already have access to it. WHen replacing the valve stem, be sure to use a plumbers grease on all rings and seals. The rest of the replacement is the same are the removal.

Hope this helps.
