How to lock the jigsaw blade to make straight cuts on my Boschest 1587svs?

Use a straight edge guide. Clamp it on the work so the jigsaw can run against it. Be patient and go very slowly.

Benefits of using a scroll saw

Some times there are woodworking projects that you will want to do that can be very difficult to do with a regular power saw. There are several big benefits to using a scroll saw over other saws due to its ease of use and control.

Lets say that you want to make a jigsaw puzzle, you could use a jigsaw saw that has to be mounted on a table because they are difficult to control or you could use a scroll saw that is a mounted saw to begin with. You will also find that a scroll saw allows for more control and has much less vibration than a jigsaw.

The cuts that a scroll saw make are so smooth that in most cases you won't need to sand down the edges. This is a really helpful feature when you are working on cutting difficult to get into angles and cutting inside a piece.

The ability to make an interal cut without having to start the cut from the edge of the piece of wood a huge advantage over most other saws. When you want to make a cut out all you have to do is drill a hole in the area you want to cut out, and then slide the blade through the hole and use the scroll saw to cut out the edges. There is also a foot pedal that you can use so that you can keep both hands on the piece so it doesn't run away when the blade starts moving.

Many power tools tend to be very loud, which lends themselves to the user working alone with earplugs of some other forms of hearing protection. The scross saw is a very quiet power tool that is perfect for you to teach your kids about the art of woodworking. And it is safe enough that they can use it to build their own model airplanes and artwork.

The spring clip came out of my craftsman 135.17243 scroll / jigsaw and i do not know how to put it back together.

I have the same problem. The link to the Skill saw shows the parts, and the price of the leaf spring is on the right (it's the same as the Sears). Here is the Sears parts link I bought the leaf spring, but can't figure out how to keep it in place. Old spring was worn, and broke when I tried to put it back in. I'm not sure if there are any part's missing, but don't see anything extra in the diagram that I don't have. If you have figured it out, please post a solution.

I have a craftsman jigsaw(scroll) that I got for Christmas last year. The blade comes out in the middle of my cut some time. Is there a problem with this type of jigsaw?? I have sanded the top of the...

Most of the time the cause for this is applying to much pressure on the blade as you are cutting. Remember, the blade does the cutting and you are guiding the jigsaw around the cut. This can strip the blade and wear the top of the mount. Adjust the way you cut and you should not have any problems.

Scroll saw Model 572.247200 need manual or at least what saw blade it takes??????

According to the Sears web site, your sroll saw uses the #8030 blades, which have been replaced with #5088029. These are available from any Sears store or online at the following link, see item #31 or 31A, priced at $4.00

It would appear that the owners manual for your scroll saw has been discontinued and is no longer available (Sears #405015) But the line drawing and parts list may be of some value to you, should you need to do any repairs later on.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Problem guiding the direction of cut with a jigsaw.

check that surface plate is square with the blade.don't push too hard,or force the saw,let it cut at it's own speed, guide rather than force.a scroll saw or band saw is more accurate as you control the work piece instead of the tool.

I do not know to use the black and decker jigsaw.

Draw the circle pattern on the wood where you need it. Drill a 1/2 or 3/8 inch hole inside the circle, near the circle line. Insert the jigsaw blade into the hole and start cutting, following the line.

If you have the scrolling feature on your saw, don't use it, lock the scroll.
