Canon Copier PC 920 red light keeps blinking.Replaced cartridge.

The red light indicating cartridge replacement was blinking.I replaced the cartridge with a new cartridge from Staples # E 20. Following the instructions installing the unit the trouble light keeps on blinking. What could be the cause ? What did I do wrong.? Thanks.

That"s all I did. The unit from Staples is compareable I was told.

SOURCE: Canon i560 printer

I have similar problem. I found this solution that may help you. My problem insists tho.

>>> 5 flashes indicates a faulty printhead or possibly a problem with the p/head contacts. Try removing the head which is easier if you take the cartridges out first(no tools required) and re-seat it having checked the contacts for dirt.

If that doesn't work it may be that the waste ink tank is full. Try this ...
Canon S9000, S300, S400, i550, i560, i850, i860, i865, i9100, i9950, PIXMA iP3000 above,
1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not, press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal.

How to install toner cartridge in a Canon 920

On your Canon PC 920, there is a recessed gray latch located on the left side of the machine towards the top front...press upwards on this latch to release the top part of copier (same as removing a misfeed or clearing a paper jam). The copier opens up.....now, located in the top unit, about center, is the drum / toner unit. It has a black plastic handle on it. Grasp this handle and pull towards you...slowly...until it is free of machine (support the rear of the unit with your other hand) Open new cartridge (unit) and install in reverse order (there should be instructions with the new cartridge) The copier has rails that the cartridge mounts on. Another note, before installing....gently shift the cartridge from side to side.....this distributes the toner evenly (again, covered in the installation instructions packed with the cartridge) There is a tab that needs to be removed to allow the toner to get where it needs to go for copying....attatched to this tab is a strip of plastic, pull all the way out. I have a PC 940...it uses the same cartridge.

I've lost my manual. Does the red light that

The red light that looks like an empty cylinder on the Sharp AL 1631 Grayscale Copier panel is the "drum replacement required" indicator. The "cartridge replacement" indicator is represented by 6 dots forming a triangular shape.
The drum replacement indicator lights up when there are about 1000 copies left until its end of life. It is only when the indicator starts blinking that the drum really needs replacement.
The part number for the drum is AL-100DR.
I hope this helps.

Blinking red and yellow light

Generally if both the (red) alarm LED and the (yellow) data LED are both blinking, it is an indication that the tone cartridge needs to be replaced. You should be close to out of cartridge.

Toner Cartridge

Mine is a single cartridge system. The black cartridge that looks like it holds the ink is the toner cartridge. Replace it with cartridge E40.
