Either your video card is bad, or your tower is looking for a signal from a card that isn't primary. if you have a second video card try and plug into that, if you don't have a second video card then it's possible your onboard video has gone bad. you can also check and make sure your video is enabled in bios if it gets any kind of signal at all when you boot. good luck!

also if your monitor has both DVI and VGA you should make sure it's on the right setting on the monitor itself. i've seen that before where they don't register which is plugged in.

when you turn the computer on, how many beeps do you hear, there may be something wrong with the motherboard and/or processor. are you using usb or ps/2 mice/keyboards? if you plug your ps/2 ports into the opposite ports i.e. mouse into keyboard and vice versa it will turn on, but you won't get any signal to the monitor. if you hear multiple beeps this signifies a bios code, and that can be looked up and troubleshot/verified. i guess i should have asked all this in the beginning. you should also check and make sure your other cards and ram are seated properly.

also have you tried a different monitor? i realize most people don't own a second one, but it's worth asking :)

I have a e machines desktop that will not boot up. I turn it on and the monitor says no signal. I think it might be stuck in hibernation mode. The fans on the tower start but thats about it. If some one...

No Signal means you Display or Monitor is not getting signal from Video Card.
In this case:
1. Check if all the cable are properly plugged in. Check on both monitor and computer back. 2. Check if cable is not broken. 3. Try unplugging cables and plug them back. 4. Try some other monitor or cable. 5. If cables are fine than problem could be with your video card.
As you are getting No Signal that mean your monitor is working fine. Problem is either with cable or video card.

I have acer aspire series computer for 2 years.one day when i open my computer my monitor display no signal what are the reasons

Hi! it means that the monitor is not picking any signal from the tower or computer.Check all physical cables first esp the video cable from the monitor to the tower.Check if the computer has power by checking lights, sound coming of the machine. Check if monitor cable is securely plugged in to the vga or hdmi port.If you are using a adapter for that cable try to directly plugin the cable without using the adapter. If still no signal, check if you have a external video card or internal.if you have a external video card and thats the one that youre using then remove the external video card(you need to open up the tower and physically remove the external video card) and connect the video cable to the onboard card then check if will get a signal.hope this helps...

Fan runs fast moniter says no signal

That only means that the tower is not able to detect a signal coming from your video card. Try to re seat cables from monitor to tower then check if you see any colors on the monitor if you do that's good that means its working. After that plug it back again. If it still does the same thing try to re seat the video card if you have one and the memory card.

Hope this helps!

My screen doesnt get a signal from the computer what could be wrong?

There could be three reasons for the same .
1. Loose signal cable: Check and reseat the VGA or DVI cable from the back of the system tower to the monitor.

2. Bad monitor : Disconnect the monitor cable from the back of the monitor check if the monitor displays anthing .

3. Bad video card : Try connecting an alternate monitor to check if the same is displaying anything on the screen.

It is turned on but screen stays black once tower is powered up.

we need to make sure whether its a Tower problem or monitor Problem>
Do this simple test> Disconnect the Cable that connects the Tower to the Monitor(while the tower and the monitor are on)> then see if you have any error msg on the monitor screen> if you have someting that says "Chk video cable" or " no signal"
Ur monitor is fine and the tower is faulty> IF not thn ur monitor has gone bad>

Tower power button on but start up does not happen. Have checked the monitor and the VGA cable, both are working fine. Was able to get it to come on once but then when I restarted, same problem occurring.

If you are getting any Beap signal, your RAM is loose otherwise
1. RAM problem.
2. Cable Loosing Problem.
3. Bios Battery Problem. Just reset your bios settings.
4. SMPS problem.

No Input Signal

Dont Panic it is Nothing...
Your Monitor is safe...
If it say "no Input signal" - "Check VGA cable"

it means that the Monitor is finding signals from the computer, and the cable is either not connected or unsecurely connected.

Green light blinking screen blank

Hi Suzee,

Is the green flashing on the tower or the monitor?

If it is flashing on the monitor, then it might be tht the monitor is not gettign signal from the tower.
To check, disconnect the monitor from the tower and check the monitor. If you get a msg on the screen like no input signal or check video cable, then 99% monitor is fine.

Check for the power supply light at the back of the tower.

Disconnect everything from the computer and then press and hold the power button on the comp for about 30 seconds.

Then connect the cables and check if it is working.
