I have a Alpine CDA-9830. It has a AUX setting and so I was wondering if I can connect an ipod to it? I cant seem to find any input for a cable. I looked online at the manual, but it didnt really answer my question.

Hey Guys,

This is the part you need..its an adapter for Alpine stereo..its called the ainet to rca.. then all you need to do is get a stereo jack cable to rca and plug the stereo jack cable in to the ipod and rca's in to the adapter..it plugs on left side of back of the unit if you are looking at it from behind

KCA-121B

cheers

I have my ipod hooked up to the rca's in the back of the radio but there is very little volume. nothing i do seems to help. i have the aux on but still barely any sound comes out. am i doing something...

Hi, the RCAs in the back are usually outputs, not inputs. The specs on this unit indicate that AUX input is optional. Are the jacks you're using marked AUX input? If yes, what kind of cable are you using to adapt the iPod to the RCAs? If no, you may need to buy an adapter. There is one here: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500KCA420I/Alpine-KCA-420i.html?search=kca-420i&tp=120
I got this link from the spec sheet here: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500CDA9851/Alpine-CDA-9851.html?tp=5684

Want to connect ipod, how can i do that

Its on the back of the radio. Here is the link for the part you need to convert to rca's so you can plug in a ipod.

Alpine CDA 9827 using aux mode with ipod shuffle via rca inputs

Unfortunately, the rca outputs are to control an amplifier or crossover. They do make an ipod adapter for that radio, which allows you to control the ipod through the radio. Best Buy or any Alpine dealer should carry something for around $25.

Connecting mp3 player other than ipod to cda 9851

CLICK HERE for your owners manual in PDF format.

Please see Page 19 on how to toggle ON the AUX IN function on the radio

A KCA-121B (alpine bus to RCA) adapter is required.
-or-
AI-3NPUT (alpine bus to Female 3.5mm) adapter is required.

There is no alternate INPUT on the rear of this radio - an adapter is required... converting the changer port to an input.

On my Alpine CDA 7892 i have the aux cables right for my iPod but i don't know how to swith it to the "aux" , just CD or Radio, How do you switch it to the "aux" imput in the back

I believe you need the Alpine KCA-410C - Ai-Net multi-changer/versatile link adapter before you can input from an external source directly.

What can i use the auxillary cable for

yes you can connect it to an ipod/iphone or anything with an aux outlet. Some require an adapter to the plug but it'll still work.

Peripheral's Connex2Car adapter to an Alpine CDA-9851

the alpine should recognize it as a "changer" when you select the source; ie: radio, CD, changer. Sounds simple, but have you turned up the volume on the iPod?
The Alpine adapter is $100, but works great, you can totally control all your iPods functions, and it displays all song info on the Alpine decks display.
