Question about GE GSL25JFPBS Side by Side Refrigerator

Open Question

Water disperser not working GE model GSL25JFPD

The ice maker works fine, but the water does not. I read online to take off the kick-plate on the front and disconnect the water line from the connector and test to see if the water would run when I hit the button, IT DOES. With the water line disconnected from the coupler, when I hit the botton water spews out.

Nevermind, I fixed it... I took apart the coupler behind the kick-plate. When I pressed the button water would spew out... So I knew I had power... I opened the freezer door and got a hair-dryer and blew on the water dispenser to heat it up. I left the freezer door open with the hair-dryer on the water spicket for about 20 min. plugged everything back together and BAM, water works. The line had frozen up in the door. I looked and the freezer setting was set on 9(highest) so that was the problem. I will back it down to about 5 and see what happens.

SOURCE: Ge ice marker no 120v to seloniod water valve

It sounds like the plug-in for the solenoid valve is not making contact with the terminals on the solenoid . You can either buy a new connector or cut the plug for the solenoid and crimp 1/4 inch sta-cons (insulated type) to the wires.

SOURCE: I own a GE side-by-side model # GSS25LGMF CC; my

ive seen this before on this model, what is happening is the water line in the door is freezing and clogging up
the best thing you can doo here is disconnect that tube and try to get it defrosted
i usually suggest to turn the unit off
and open the freezer door let the inside come up to room temp

Ge gss22 where is the ice maker supply valve

Pull the refrigerator out and follow the water line to the back. It will go to a double valve solenoid. One half is for your water dispenser, the other for the ice maker. It is possible that this solenoid has failed. You can order the part online and replace it pretty cheaply. Just remember to turn off the water supply (usually under the sink) and unplug the refrigerator before hand and have a towel ready to catch water that will drain from the lines.
To order the new part get the full model number of your refrigerator and go to the GE website and look up their replacement parts page. You should be able to search for that model and all of its related replacement parts there.

The front touch pad board /panel which you are referring is called dispenser board. To access the dispenser board assembly, click this link below:---
http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/06/ge-side-by-side-refrigerator-will-not.html ------------ The dispenser board removal procedure is mentioned at the last on the link instructions.-------- -------------- But the engineer at your place has pointed you to right direction. The main control board is most probably the cause of problem. One more important thing. There are many other users too facing same problem with there ge side by side refrigerators. This problem occurs in many ge model refrigerators. There was service letter released by Ge for this problem.Click this link, to read the letter:--- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/07/ge-side-by-side-refrigerator-wont.html -----------

You can get required parts from online sites like: --- www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site.

To much water into ice maker leaks into freezer

this is most likely caused by a faulty water fill valve. Refrigerators that have ice/water in the door have two fill valves, one for the ice maker, one for the water dispenser. They are usually located on the back of the refrigerator about 6 inches or so off the floor. Some are located in the front behind the kick plate. They are not difficult to replace. You can order them online. Be sure to turn the water valve behind the refrigerator off before you disconnect anything. it is also a good idea to unplug the refrigerator. As long as you plug it back in within 30-40 minutes the food should be fine.

My icemaker has stopped receiving water

it sounds like your water valve is bad. you have a double water valve - one side operates the ice maker and the other side operates the water dispenser. the ice maker side of the valve is bad.

you can manually pour a little water in the ice maker ice mold and wait an hour or so - if it dumps the ice then you know for sure that the ice maker is cycling and water is not getting to the ice maker from the water valved

The ice maker on our GE refrigerator does not make ice

1 -Ice maker arm must be down(on position)2-Make sure the water supply line is connected to the fridge3Check if the ice maker is plugged in4The freezer must be working fine for the ice maker to produce ice. After the ice maker stars and calls for water and doesn't get any , the water valve is bad.And if everything above is ok the ice maker needs to be replaced.

Ice maker and water dispenser front panel lost power

Check the power connection for the door.. It is either under the hinge cover on the top or under the kick plate in the bottom.. Just un plug and re plug if it seems like the wires are fine

Good luck
