First of all, which USB device are you connecting?
Check the status of your USB ports at your device manager.
Try different USB port.
Reboot your computer and try again

You probably need a driver if you are connecting unknow USB devices.

SANYO VPC-T700. I cant find my manual and I dont know how to recharge the camera battery. I plugged the USB cable into my computer and nothing happens and of course I need the camera today!

I don't think you can charge via Computer USB.. you need to use the Charger plug that comes
with the camera. Plug it up into the wall.. You should charge it overnight, but i know you don't
have that kinda time

I plug my camera into the computer, nothing happens.

if that nothing happen ..this means that you do not plugged it in a right kinda usb ...so ...change the usb and reinstall the driver it has to at least make a noise when it sees the new unit...
also ...the camera needs to be powered and on ...and in the right mode...( view picks)
all that done ...and still no action ...just change the cable cause its damaged...
you can also use a card reader to download picturesw if the camera uses a SD card ..

Plug in my hard drive and nothing happens

Make sure that your usb hard drive is inserted properly into the computer but if nothing happens, go to your bios settings of your computer and be sure that usb function is set to on. Save changes and restart the computer. If you dont know how to do this, first turn on the computer and press the delete key in the keyboard, once you enter the bios screen look for the usb settings and make sure it is set to on. Hope this could help. Thanks

Microsoft wireless mouse 3000; put in new battery, still nothing

nikcorra2488,

try this: plug in the USB key & check for the green light. Then go to start, control panel, & double click mouse (with whatever mouse works). Check the hardware tab and see it the computer is recognizing that the mouse is there. If it is there, it should be working fine. If not, then perhaps you need to reinstall the USB port drivers. Sometimes this will happen when you've upgraded from 1.0 to 2.0 USB ports.

Hope this helps.

RCA pearl 1602-A won't register when plugged into USB port.

When my computer wouldn't recognize my Pearl, these are the steps I followed after downloading the firmware upgrade from http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2243/related/1

remove the battery,
start the program,
hold the play button while plugging into usb,
release the play button when the term "initializing" replaces "searching",
click the start button to replace the firmware.

You might want to try leaving the "format data" box unchecked the first time. If that doesn't work and allow you to backup your music, bite the bullet and format the data area.

After I did this, my pearl started normally, and my computer recognized it again. It also fixed my aac-error problem.

When I plug in the M407 camera nothing happens

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

When i plug anything into the usb on the lappy it dosent recognise my device

Normal 0 How much memory do you have installed in your computer? It may need to be, increased, as this is likely to be the cause of your computer freezing, rebooting, times out, or shutting down.
Hope this is of some help. Bud
