First of all, which USB device are you connecting?
Check the status of your USB ports at your device manager.
Try different USB port.
Reboot your computer and try again

You probably need a driver if you are connecting unknow USB devices.

Black screen just after boot window from USB

Sounds like either the monitor or video card inside the computer is bad. Try connecting another monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a friend, neighbor, relative or co-worker and plug it into the computer. If the borrowed monitor displays ok, then your original monitor is bad. If the borrowed monitor does the same thing and not show a display then your video card inside the computer is bad.

There are 3 unused usb ports on my hardrive, but when instructed to plug in my logitech webcam nothing happens

Check the drivers in Device manager to see if everything is in order. As USBs are plug and play they mainly depend on the firmware being up-to-date, so it may be worth your while looking at logitechs site and checking out your webcams driver. It is also worth trying the camera on another computer and try another USB device on your own. This will eliminate general issues with the webcam and your usb ports.

USB problems can be quickly narrowed down by eliminating issues, so if these dont work come back with any extra details

You either have keyboard disable in bios. You should check bios when you boot the computer to see if the keyboard is disable.

Memory Card Slot/USB not working

If you have your original Windows repair disk, run a repair installation, (**Not a reinstall and don't reformat, just a repair) this should be an easy way to fix your problem, taking maybe an hour.

My 2 usb ports on my monitor not working

In order for the two USB ports on the monitor to work, the monitor itself has to be connected to your computer via another USB cable with connectors that look like this:
8130925.jpg
The flat connector goes into an available USB port on your computer, the square one plugs into your monitor. Check if your cable is connected properly or exchange it with another one.
To eliminate that there is something wrong with your "not recognized device", plug this device into another USB port of your computer. The reason to preferably remove the device safely in Windows is that you can loose data if you just unplug it. If it is an external harddrive, it can get damaged, because you interrupt the power and the read/write head can get "stuck". So check this device on another computer or USB port.

If you have any other questions or something is not clear to you, just come back here and leave a comment and I'm happy to help.

System turns on however hard drive will not cycle nor will mouse or key board activate

Turn power off and unplug power from computer.
Unplug printers,backup drives and speakers.
Open case and unplug power supply from the board.
plug power cord back in press the power button.
Of course nothing will happen.
unplug power cord again.
plug power supply back into the board.
plug power cord backup and press power switch.
If nothing happens unplug power cord again.
pull out your memory sticks and plug cord back in and press power button.
Of course not much will happen.
But really something is happening to your computer so continue.
Pull power cord and replace memory sticks.
replace power cord and press power switch.
Continue this pulling out pci cards one at a time until you find out what the problem might be.
Try different keyboards and mice too.
Good Luck

Won't boot..

dear,
u unplugged everything and it booted up finely.
its mean that there is something wrong with the drviers.
check it one by one. just plug hard driver first and let is boot. if its still behaving the same as after plugging all then the problem is caused by the hard drive.
