CD500 is single-pole countdown timer.
Timer is rated for 1/4 Hp bathroom fan or attic fan, and appears to be rated for incandescent light bulbs and not rated for LED or CFL
If Load rating exceeds timer rating, or runs at maximum rating, expect timer to overheat and fail quickly.
Open following link to download manual and read wiring instructions.
These timers have 1 year limited warranty against defects in workmanship from Coleman Cable company.
Recommend buy timers at local box store and if timer goes bad, buy new timer and return defect in new package.

Usually when there is intermitent power like that there is a bad connection under one of the wirenuts. Remove the timers, untwist all wirenuts and start over.

My woods digital timer is acting weird. I take the timer off the outlet and set the timer like normal. The display is doing everything I want it too at this point. But then, as soon as I plug it into...

Copy following link to identify timer and see Woods (Coleman) warranty support link
Buy another timer.
Reset timer using reset button.
Check if timer has batteries. Older timers had batteries. Newer timers have internal rechargeable batteries.
Try on different outlet.
Check outlet polarity using circuit analyzer.
Timers are made to last 1-3 years, some more some less.

My outdoor low voltage lighting is blinking on/off - cycles on/off every 2 seconds (approximately) - this is not an issue of the photo sensor picking up light from the installed lights. Colder than us

1) Most photocell timers have 1 year limited warranty, but unclear who carries warranty without knowing brand.
Do not buy expensive timers with photoeye unless purchased at local store where ez exchange can be made for several years.
Copy following link to help identify timer:

2) Buy Intermatic-Malibu power pack with 5 year limited warranty:

3) Set power pack to ON position (or override position) and then plug power pack into cheap 3-prong wall timer, for example timer with optional dawn-dusk or remote control sold at Lowes and Home Depot.

4) Add comment and describe timer in detail for more possible help

I have a Woods Decora time we use on our bathroom vent fan. It is preset for 5-10-15-30 minutes. It now runs for 5-10-15-30 SECONDS! How can I fix it?

There are no repairs for electronic wall timers.
Timers have 1 year warranty against defects in workmanship. This sounds like the case here.

Try timer on different circuit and see if same malfunction appears.

Woods is rated for 1/4 HP and will handle bath fan, so load does not sound like a problem.
Timer worked before, so wiring is correct.
Power outages can knock out timers when the power turns on again and timer is exposed to surge.

View countdown timers:
Electronic Leviton 6200 series and Leviton LTB series are more robust than Woods.
Mechanical rotary-type timers have no electronics, and last many years without problems.
Buy locally: GE countdown timers are sold at Home Depot. Advantage of store-bought timer is hassle-free warranty: buy new timer and return defect timer in new package.

I don't have answer for defective timer. Buy another timer if everything below checks out:
59018 7-day timer has limited 1 year warranty, and appears to be made by Tork
Timer is for 120Volt single-pole only.
Rated for 1000 watt tungsten, 8A ballast, 1/4 HP
Push reset button with toothpick > not necessary to press-and-hold other button to accomplish reset.
After reset, 12:00 am Monday should display.
Programs are deleted. Reprogram timer.

To check, change and delete specific programming, press PROG key until selected program displays, and then set new programming >>> or press-and-hold MODE button and press PROG button again to delete selected program.

Timer has non-replaceable 30-day carryover battery and does not lose programming after power outage, and will retain programs until battery is depleted.

Review wiring:
Hot to timer black.
Neutral to timer white.
Load to timer red.
Ground to timer green.

Lights will blink if timer red and timer white are connected to load together.
Timer will not function if timer black and red wires are reversed. Display will not show.

I have an In-wall timer that was installed 3 months ago and has been working well. When I tried to adjust the starting time, I can't get past step 1 on my instructions. The hour or minute does not appear...

You posted under Woods 59028 timer.
Open link below to identify timer for sure, and download on-line manual:

1) Wiring is not suspect since timer has been working.

2) When any timer has a problem, press RESET button to see if problem solves.
After pressing reset button with toothpick or paper clip, 12:00 am Mo should be flashing.
If screen is still blank after that, then check circuit has power.
If timer will not operate lights, check light is not burned out.
If circuit is working fine, and display will not show, then timer may be bad.

3) Notice that instructions say to press and HOLD clock key while setting current time.
See if that helps.
If timer simply does not function, it may be bad.
I test timers, and many go bad within a year or less. Most have one year limited warranty.

4) When I have a problem with instructions, I start writing them out to make sure I understand completely.
Fixya does not offer enough room to copy contents of manual in a free answer, and the manual is straightforward since timer does not offer dusk-to-dawn options.

I bought the model 59200 indoor mechanical timer, I followed all the instructions but the timer does not work...

Is this a Woods 59200 timer?
Yesterday somebody wrote fixya and said that they had two 59200's that didn't work.
I suggested he check timer on another receptacle in another room.
If timer works on another circuit, the first circuit may need a line analysis to check for electrical problem on line. Buy a line analyzer at Home Depot in electric department.

Let's review the timer.
The lamp has to be turned ON.
48 segments located around dial represent 1/2 hour each.
Pull up segments for times you want timer OFF.
Leave segments down for times you want timer ON.
Set timer switch to ON position.
To check if lights turn on, slide switch to OUTLET ON

Timer dial should rotate with passing time.
If dial is not rotating, then check that receptacle has power.
If dial still doesn't rotate, then timer is probably bad ... but check circuit as described above.
