SOURCE: screen is white

You could have a video controller problem or a LCD screen problem, what you are seeing is the backlighting but no video information.
To check if you have a video problem, connect an external monitor to your laptop and bootup your laptop, if you see Windows booting up the external monitor then the video controller is OK, and your problem is the LCD screen or the video cable connection on the motherboard (may need reseating).
If you cannot fix the LCD screen then use your laptop with an external monitor.

SOURCE: how to reboot my sony vaio vgn-cs26t to original factory setting

insert the first recovery disk and simply reboot your computer. instead of loading windows you will be brought to a screen where you can set up your computer to be reformatted. if the computer boots windows instead you will need to change the boot order in the bios and set the cd rom drive first. this can be done by pressing a button or button combination while the computer is booting. pay attention because you onle have a few seconds. if all else fails call sony tech support and ask them how to change your boot order

Disk Access: Sense operation failed

Have tried to reboot it through its own internal memory w/out the discs? Restart your computer, get into your bios to go to factory restore and do it from there. You should be good to go from there w/out the discs. : )

How do you Reboot a computer back to factory setting

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Factory Settings CD
How To Use the Restore Factory Setting CD
  1. Step 1 Make sure to transfer all of the files you want to keep to a USB memory stick or burn to a CD.
  2. Step 2 Put the "Restore Factory Setting CD" into the CD drive. This CD was packaged with your computer.
  3. Step 3 Confirm you want to restore the factory settings. The computer will begin restoring all settings. Don't disturb your computer, as this process can take several hours. .
  4. Step 4 Reboot the computer to complete the process.
  5. How to Reboot Using the Computer Start-Up
  6. Step 1 Turn on your computer. Right away there will be a black screen. You can restore factory settings without a CD, too. This will reset your BIOS.
  7. Step 2 Press "F1" when the black screen appears to enter the setup configuration mode. You will be presented with a menu.
  8. Step 3 Select "Restore Factory Defaults." That's it. Your computer will do all the work for you. Like the CD, this process may take several hours.

not too sure what you mean here.you can reset bios to default or can set bios to factory reset.to set default ...when you turn on pc ,message at bottom left hand screen indicates which key to press to enter setup(bios setup) note...its very brief;mines f 10 for instance.at startup press this key and select load default then select save settings and exit;then ur pc restarts with default settings.
To reset bios to factory requires disassembly.
you locate rtc and remove battery(looks like large watch battery)for 5 minutes then replace, reassemble and restart pc.you dont need to know what rtc means(real time clock)or what it looks like cos the battery is right next to it.
