It looks like by Fitting this Homebrew Fan and switching the power on that you have potentially shorted the systems Motherboard. this will render it unworkable as is in your case. unfortunately for you now, because you have modified the Xbox 360s hardware, your warranty with microsoft is Voided meaning you will have to purchase a new Xbox.

Instead of resorting to fitting Extra pieces of hardware Yourself,i suggest follow these steps :

1) do not put Xbox 360s in small confined spaces such as TV Cabinets and cupboards, this decreases the Cooling capabilities of the Xbox System Dramatically which will eventually lead to an Over heat and potentially damaged CPU and/or GPU (RRoD). Make sure the Xbox console has a lot of empty space around it, Free from other electrical appliances which will give it the fresh cool air it requires to keep the core temperatures down.

2) buy a very small desk fan and have it blowing a very slight breeze onto the back of the Xbox Console. do not have the fan turned up too high or Pointing Directly into the back of the console, as this can sometimes wear down the Bearings on the fans which will eventually cause them to break.

3) the final solution would be to Look into purchasing a 3rd Party Fan Attachment, these fans don't alter the hardware within the system, meaning they are still within warranty. and generally provide cooler running temperatures for your console. one example of an attachment would be the Nyko Intercooler (google it).

Hopefully this solves your problem. sorry to hear that you may need a new console !

Used wrong adapter to power my Casio pt 100

more, lots of PT-100 users long long ago and for decades did MODS.
and the power pack mode was 2 ways or both ways

1; wired center pin on some CASIO IS WIRED PER PHOTO BELOW. IF USING WRONG PACK IT BLOWS UP THE MOBO.
2: added series diode 1N4001 up , to make it never blow up again. (voltage to high still will)

I have a mod for #3 , too much voltage using zener diode and a fuse. ask.
I have endless ideas on mods for most things that (plug in)

the AD1 PACK MISSING AND WRONG PACK USED BURNS THIS KBD UP, AS VAST FOLKS IN THE NET TESTIFY.
WRONG PACK OR CLONES SOLD WRONG, I SEE MANY SOLD THAT SHOW AD1 COMPAT, BUT IS A LIE.
THEY LIE. NOW.

WRONG VOLTAGE SOLD .
WRONG POLARITY SOLD AND USED.
WIRED WRONG, PACKS.
THE PACK IS CALLED CASIO, AD1 (TOLD IN THE USERS MANUAL()

MINUS -7.5 VDC AT 2.2WATTS (WATTS BE HIGHER IF YOU WANT)
AMPS IS 0.133 amp max or 130mA , I bet the electronics inside uses 100mA max or less.

Xbox360 Slim 12 volt fan mod, to keep your system cool all the time.

Step By Step Tutorial
1. Remove case of the xbox 360
2. Remove DVD drive and Harddrive holder inside the console
3. Unplug the fan
4. Unhook the small tab holding the blue wire out of the white male connector
5. Fold the wire back and tap it to the rest of the wires
6. Reason for doing this incase you decide you want to change it back to normal fan speed
7. Tape the wire back to the other wires covering the metal end of the wire so it doen't short out on anythign else in the console
8. Plug the fan wires back in to the console
9. Test by powering it up
10. reassemble the console and you have fully succeded in a simple 12volt fan mod with no soldering required.

Xbox 360 Fan Voltage modification -- constant 12V

Hello and welcome to fixya.

The RROD (red ring of death) Issue in xbox 360s is a very very common problem, that is often solved the wrong way, for example the xclamp fix, it may last a month or two, then your back to issues, if you have a xclamp mod installed remove it right away. It can ruin the board, it bends the board.

What will help you more is to turn up the voltage of the fans from temperature controlled 5-12v to a steady 12Volt.

The console will make a bit more noise, but it will stay cooler and keep your rrod problems away. This modification may fail some day in the future or cause other problems in a year or two later, if that happens, you would have to undo the modification. i'm thinking long term here, possibly replace failing components or find another source for 12volts.

A Source for ~12volts:
add picture of mainboard here

In the above picture I've marked the 12volt source that I've used for two xbox 360 motherboards so far, with no issues to date.

You need to solder a wire to this connector

you need to cut the fans + side wires ( RED and Brown ) The black and Blue will work as a ground leave them attached.

You will need a "sugar cube" to connect the wireing, we will share the 12volt for two or tree fans, if you decide to add another one.

My xbox always suddenlly shut down while im playing it will not reach 20 minutes its shuts down again.

If before it shutdowns it has 2 red light its a Overheating issue, if still under warrenty send it back to microsoft or... you can, open it up by following this guide: . http://www.rrodfix.com/how-to-take-apart-the-microsoft-xbox-360-game-console.html Stop once you've removed the dvd drive. Get a can of air, make sure its all aired out, and you hold the can horizontal don't tilt it, and short bursts. Once thats done. If you want to make sure it never overheats you can do whats called a 12v mod on the 360 it forces the fans to run at full speed. Now if you have a slim you just snip the grey wire. If its a older model you get the fans, and wire it up to a external 12v 1amp ac to dc adapter or solder it to this point :http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/mods/360-12V-fan-Mod.htm this link also shows what wires are postive and negative. And I would also suggest changing the thermal paste out for some better stuff like artic silver five. Now if you're getting Red Ring of Death which is 3 red lights you need to follow this guide :This is called Red Ring of Death or RROD by the community, it means that the CPU or GPU or both have a bad solder joint, that is caused from rapid heating and cooling from poor cooling design of the xbox 360. To fix it is pretty simple. Follow these instructions to take apart your 360: http://www.rrodfix.com/how-to-take-apart-the-microsoft-xbox-360-game-console.html Stop once you've removed the dvd drive. Now Remove the fans from the back, and set them on the heatsink on the right the flat one, and make sure they are pointing where the air is going up. Put a peice of of carboard or plastic something non conductive in between the heatsinks to prevent airflow from the fans. Turn on the 360, and leave it til it goes from 3 rings to 2 rings, wait 3 minutes, then switch the fan over to the other side. Wait about as long as you did for the other one then turn off the 360. Wait 1 hour for the 360 to cool off. DO NOT move the 360 while it is cooling down durning this period or you will permantly ruin it, the solder is being reflowed. After an hour, put the fans back, and turn the 360 on, it should work. Once its working, I recommend doing a 12 volt mod on the fans to prevent RROD from happening again, and changing out the thermal paste with artic silver 5.

My consol cuts off in the middle of a game

Make sure the disc isn't scratched. And also 360's are prone to overheating so I recommend that you go and mod your fans to run at full speed to prevent overheating. Using the DVD power 12v trick posted here.http://www.instructables.com/id/Xbox-360-12v-fan-mod/

Ive modded my xbox and now the fans dont work

Modding an Xbox 360 is illegal, and Microsoft is anal about it.

I would say you probably severed a connection somewhere wrong and fried your motherboard or corrupted your hard drive.

Xbox 360 Error Code 0021

So, you took apart the Xbox 360?

The Xbox 360 has serious cooling problems; compressed air usually does wonders for the Xbox.

You'll "brick" your Xbox tampering with the fan and heat sink; soft mods are always a bad idea if you don't have any recourse for fixing the system.

Hard Mods/Mod Chips are the best way to go because you have dual boot capabilities; you can boot to the original Xbox OS or the Mod Chip firmware.

Currently, Microsoft is being sued for the number of Xbox 360 consoles experiencing the "Red Rings of Death."

Microsoft is making amends by fixing the Xbox 360 at no charge.

Taking the Xbox apart yourself may void your warranty; you might start by uses an Ohm Meter to check the heat sink and fan connections.

Also make sure there is not a gap between the heat sink and the processor; this space should be filled with the thermal compound.

Furthermore, the fan might be damaged and not reporting the fan speed through the variable resistance wire; only way to determine this is by powering the fan with +5v / -5v and checking the variable resistance wire with an Ohm meter.
