I have a Samsung DVD-r150 recorder I bought it 2 years ago worked great until now. When I turn it on the only thing that works is the channel buttons nothing else but if I press the eject button none of the other buttons work it just freezes saying open but the tray won't come out and when I put it on standby the disk keeps spinning and the laser keeps moving. What can I do?

SOURCE: Disc Tray Will Not Eject

Just next to the eject button on the actual recorder there should be a tiny pinhole.  If you use a small paperclip and insert it, then push, you should be able to manually eject the DVD.  Hope this helps!

SOURCE: I have a JVC VCR/DVD-recorder,

This can be due to a faulty LOADING drive settings, It can be due to a misalignment of the loading section and so the load does not reset to the PARK CONDITION of the MODE.
It can be a aulty gear, belt or jamming in the drive.
You need to open the player, remove the mechanism and manually check the forward and loading motion which can confirm. If the belt or the drive is jammed this can be checked and replaced or reset.
Check the mode switch settings of the forward loading.

SOURCE: Samsung dvd R155 disk tray won't open/eject

1) try to clean the button with special contact cleaner spray
2) if this work, is o.k otherwise use the r. control and try to open the tray if work, is obvious the button was dirty. If doesnot work, you must the DVD player.
3) inspect any belt and replace, and lube any shaft +gear with small lubricant( vaseline) and replace any parts broken.Tight any wires connector very well and clean it.
4) if doesnot resolve the problem you must go the repair shopt TV for fix it.
God bless you

I have connected my DVD r150 to my TV, cable and vcr as described but I do not see the set up screen on the tv. What am I missing

Just a guess... But I'll bet you need to change the channel on your TV to whichever input you plugged your DVR into. And make sure the DVR is turned on.

Hope this helps.

Trouble recording to DVD - connections are not done right - Sharp DVD-RW340

I had to run from the RCA outs of my DVR into the inputs that are on the front right of the RW340...behind the little door.  Now I can easily record from live cable or from my Comcast DVR recorder.  Couldn't get it to work from the backside inputs.
Mine is just the DV RW340 (no U).  And yes, the manual is brutal.  We had to call tech support to find what disc will actually work in the darned thing.
Now my big problem is finding more 4x DV-R disks. Shoulda bought more when Comp USA was clearing them out a few years ago!

I have had great success with Dynex Model: DX-DVD-R25 discs.  And they play equally nicely on my Toshiba DVD player in the livingroom.   I have also given several away to people after I had transfered home videos to DVD and those people all had good results playing the discs that I made on my lowly Sharp Dv-RW340.

I am stuck on channel 2

some tv's default to channel 2 after being unplugged.since it is a older tv ,the buttons on the remote and the tv maybe worn down.on the tv itself try pushing the buttons down a liitle harder. if you have aux or line in/video inputs, scroll down on the channel button to log into a aux channel for the dvd player.as for the remote try buying a cheap universal remote to see if that works.
good luck

System Error

FYI...the best suggestion I've seen is to hold the channel up and play buttons simutaneously....thereby causing the machine to return to the "factory initialized" state. So far so good for me. We'll see. photog1
