How do i get my sata ports on my motherboard to work?

Hi there. I think your board is an early SATA board as it has IDE connectors too. I am not able to access the website you have listed but have had a fair bit of experience with SATA drives on such boards. It might well be that there is an option in your bios to switch between native SATA support and IDEmode. If you can find such a facility in bios then try changing it. You should try the drive on another machine to ensure that it is not defective, if the drive is a new one then try it on a very recent machine.

The issue might that the hard drive is not compatible with your board, some SATA3 drives will not work on older boards. The is true of some SATA2drives. It might just be an incompatibility issue.

Good Luck

Hard disk drive not detected during installing windows server 2003

It depends on what type of drive you are using. Plus, you may have to specify the array controller drivers if your are using the SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) drives.

Hitachi Deskstar causes a Power Error on my Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3

test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions, SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty ?

make sure the CPU central processing unit has thermal grease and a dust free secure seating

even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause this problem computers need all of the data and electrical current to travel through every working device and to have an end for a computer to be able work properly

could be a memory dump you might have to many programs running at one time putting to much stress on the CPU not having enough ram will do this

might be getting to hot make sure the CPU has a dust free secure seating and has THERMAL paste

if you right click in the bottom toolbar select task manager applications you will see whats running also processes you will see whats ticking over if you see something running that should not be select end now you might even uninstall that program and some unnecessary programs

check your computer ram and cmos battery to make sure they are securely seated and the battery has plenty of charge

some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

hope it helps

USB 3.0 connectivity to front on GA-Z68AP-D3

Hi,

As you said the board got the front pin connectivity.
All you have to do is buy in any comp shop a front USB and sound socket for the casing.
It is up to you where to put it on the front panel, drill a hole to fit that outlet and use hot glue to fix it in that position.

Hope that helps!

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty

My Motherboard wont recognize my Hard Drive

Is it Sata or IDE?.Also is your boot order set to the CD rom as the first device. The O.S is bootable only if the CD runs it first. Windows should format it later in the install process.

I cant install vista OS on this MBD , by sata HDD

You must enter setup at boot and select the CD/DVD as first boot. Then ensure that the BIOS settings have SATA enabled. When CD/DVD is first boot watch the screen for 'press any key to boot from cd' message is displayed. The boot screen will say how to enter setup. Typical buttons are F2, Delete, F1, F10 -you did not say which manufacturer. OEM trumps mobo maker with BIOS setup.

My motherboard can;t detect my harddisk.....

Hi modjoguy, the bios must see your SATA hard disk before windows can see your SATA hard disk drive. To check this please press the delete key every two seconds as soon as you power on the system. (Note 1: Some motherboards that do not show the SATA II drive while in the bios may need its jumper set to SATA I in order for the bios to see the SATA drive). (See the drives large white sticker on the hard disk drive for SATA I location of jumper).
(Note 2: Gigabyte GA-K8VM800M rev 2.x & Gigabyte GA-K8VM800M-RH motherboards use the same manual). The Gigabyte GA-K8VM800M rev 1.x manual is slightly different, thus page numbers differ from the other two above.
Here is the link for all three: http://www.giga-byte.com/Search/Search_List.aspx?Keyword=K8VM800M&SearchType=Spec
The bios main menu will open. Open your manual (rev2.0 & RH) to page 38 & read under the listing, "IDE Channel 2/3 Master". The idea is your SATA drives should be listed at 2/3.
Once they are seen you need to open Advanced BIOS Features page 40. You can load the advanced bios features by pressing "Ctrl+F1" keys. You must list the SATA drive you want as the primary hard disk drive (Usually its the model number of the drive), that will have windows installed on it.

Good luck modjoguy!
